The Pokemon movie website revealed in its February 29th update that Meloetta would be distributed to players who attended screenings of the 15th Pokemon movie while Keldeo would be the Pokemon given out for ticket preorders. One of our translators had seen the news as soon as it went up on the website, which prompted us to post the aforementioned news story.

However, the next day, our readers pointed out that there was no such news of a Meloetta and Keldeo distribution anywhere on the movie website. Since I had not seen the news myself, and my translator could no longer find where he had seen it, he assumed he was either hallucinating or had mistranslated something. This prompted us to delete the original news story, as noted in our update right after.

Well, it turns out now that the Pokemon movie website had actually posted the news by mistake and swiftly deleted it when they realized they should not have revealed it so early! We just happened to check the website in the few minutes the news was up. Our friends at AAPF grabbed a screenshot of the news when it was originally posted, which they decided to reveal just now - we weren't hallucinating! Thus, I have restored our original news story.

CoroCoro magazine has revealed the box art for Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 along with some very minor details. The only real information it tells us is that the game stories will be different from the original titles and that there will be new features (no dur). The magazine points out the similarities between White Kyurem and Reshiram and Black Kyurem and Zekrom, promising details of their relationships in next month's issue. So, it appears this month's magazine is more of a teaser than anything with no substantial information. However, there may still be additional pages that have yet to leak.

We do see something new in the magazine, though. The artwork of the two new formes has what appears to be some sort of "tubes" attached to the generators. We know from the Pokemon movie website (if the movie is going to follow the games) that Kyurem uses the DNA of Reshiram and Zekrom to become its new formes, so perhaps the tubes are some sort of key to this process. Or, they could just be previously hidden features of their designs which protrude from their generators, such as electric coils or heat coils or some sort of energy beam thingies. Who knows?

The magazine also revealed that starting April 14th, you can preorder tickets for Kyurem vs. the Sacred Swordsman - Keldeo and get a voucher to download Keldeo. The Colt Pokemon is Level 15, can be downloaded to either Black, White, Black 2, or White 2, and will unlock an event in the games. The download period is from June 23rd to August 31st. Thanks goes to Nanimonoka for the translations!

Update (Sunday, 10:00 AM): Ryu Shoji from our forums has a few more details about the incident. | Catching up on this week's news with today's news stories! Sorry for the delays - been busy with school.

The United Kingdom's Video Game Championship took place last Saturday: Ruben Puig Lecegui was crowned winner of the Masters Division for his second year in a row. However, following the event, he was stripped of his title after allegations of hotel vandalism surfaced.

According to several eyewitness accounts, the night before his win, he and members of his team placed their own feces in the hallway of the hotel they and other Pokemon players were staying at. The police were called in to escort the players out of the hotel and they were forced to pay fines. The manager of Play! Pokemon, Dave Schwimmer, commented on the incident as follows:

The Pokemon Company International expects its players to maintain high standards of behaviour conducive to the family-friendly environment that we foster. The Pokemon Company International conducts full investigations into any matters where we believe that a player has failed to maintain these standards, and take appropriate action when necessary. In this case, we have found that unacceptable behaviour did take place, and have taken the appropriate steps in response.

The winner of the event is now listed as Ben Kyriakou, the original runner-up (the third and fourth place winners were also bumped up). There is also one less slot for the Masters Division compared to the other divisions since Lecegui's slot was deleted. It is clear from this incident that TPCi does not take to such inappropriate behavior so lightly, whether at actual Pokemon events or not, and hopefully this will serve as a lesson to all players in the future.

After a rocky start, new statistics from gaming website IGN has revealed that the Nintendo 3DS's first year of sales have been much more successful than the DS's sales were in its first year out on the market. A few tidbits are quoted below, but feel free to read the entire article here for more information. The 3DS turns one at the end of this month in the U.S.

  • The 3DS has sold 4.5 million units, compared to the original DS's 2.3 million.
  • With a library of over 100 physical titles, the 3DS has sold 9 million games; the DS sold 5 million with 58 titles.
  • The eShop, which wasn't available in the DS's first year, has over 500 games available. Nintendo wouldn't provide sales statistics, but did mention that on average a consumer downloads five games or programs.
  • In terms of general revenue, including software and accessories, the 3DS has generated $1.2 billion; the DS managed $540 million in its first year.

From now until April 8th, Pokemon White players can download a Level 100 Reshiram via Wi-Fi while Pokemon Black players can download a Level 100 Zekrom. Both Pokemon come inside a Cherish Ball, holding a Dragon Gem, and have a Wishing Ribbon. Zekrom comes with Bolt Strike, Fusion Bolt, Haze, and Outrage while Reshiram knows Blue Flare, Fusion Flare, Mist, and Draco Meteor. Haze and Mist are moves the two normally cannot learn. Their OT is SPR2012 and their ID number is 03102. Both Pokemon were given out in Japan last July when the Victini movies premiered.

If you tuck the Pokemon into the Dream World, you'll also have access to a new area based on the 14th movie's Eindoak Town. By completing a game there, this will allow you to download new C-Gear skins of the Pokemon you have downloaded.

Blend Energy from BW5 Dragon Blast

A new Special Energy, Blend Energy [G][R][P][D], has been revealed in BW5 Dragon Blade / Dragon Blast. It will be #50 in Dragon Blast as an uncommon and as a holo in the Hydreigon 30-card theme deck. DorianBlack has translated it below.

We have known for several months based on preliminary product information that we would have a new Energy in BW5, speculating that it was Dragon Energy, but this could be the Energy that was being referred to. The card certainly makes Dragon Pokemon a little more playable now. It's like a watered-down version of Multi Energy, but targeting the more common Energy requirements for Dragon Pokemon's attacks.

Blend Energy [G][R][P][D] - Special Energy

This card provides 1 [C] Energy. As long as this card is attached to a Pokemon, it provides either [G], [R], [P], or [D] Energy, but only 1 Energy at a time.
