BrainWave and Wallop Theme Decks
BrainWave and Wallop are two Neo Discovery theme decks. Both 60-card pre-constructed decks come packaged with a metal Lugia coin, a Neo Discovery card checklist, a (then-current) Pokémon TCG rule book, a Poison marker, a generic marker, and several cardboard damage counters. They were originally released in stores with Neo Discovery on June 1st, 2001 for $9.99 each, but are now long out of print.
BrainWave Theme Deck
“BrainWave” features a holographic Espeon card and primarily focuses on Psychic and Water-type Pokémon. For more information on this deck, jump to the top of this page.
An error occurs on the theme deck’s packaging in which Espeon #20 is shown to be included in the deck when it is in fact Espeon #1, a completely different card. This error likely occurred because it was not often in Wizards sets that a holographic Pokemon card and a rare, non-holo Pokemon card within the same set and of the same name were two completely different cards. Previously, all theme decks pictured a non-holo version of the holographic card to be featured in the deck, so when pasting the non-holo Espeon card image on to the theme deck’s packaging, Wizards likely confused rare #20 Espeon as being the non-holo version of Espeon #1.

Lugia Coin
“BrainWave” and “Wallop” both come with a metal, silver Lugia coin. The Lugia coin was included in all Neo-series theme decks and thus the above decks were not the only way to obtain it.
