Cold Fusion and Hotfoot Theme Decks
Cold Fusion and Hotfoot are two Neo Genesis theme decks. Both 60-card pre-constructed decks come packaged with a metal Lugia coin, a Neo Genesis card checklist, a (then-current) Pokémon TCG rule book, a Poison marker, a generic marker, and several cardboard damage counters. The theme decks were the first to include a Poison marker and generic marker. They were originally released in stores with Neo Genesis on December 16th, 2000 for $9.99 each, but are now long out of print.

Lugia Coin
“Cold Fusion” and “Hotfoot” both come with a metal, silver Lugia coin that would be featured in all Neo-series theme decks. As Lugia was highly promoted as the star of the Pokemon 2000 movie and the second generation, it is no surprise it was chosen as the coin for Gold and Silver theme decks. In later years, all metal coins would be banned under Pokemon Organized Play because of their tendency to land as heads. They were also loud when hitting the table due to their heavy weight, could damage cards, and in some cases could even cause injury to players.
