Ruling Spiritomb AR

Hi, I have 2 questions about Spiritomb AR.
1. If I use Spiritomb AR's Darkness Grace, and I search for a Stage 1 card to put on my benched Pokemon, but I can't find one (fail search) do I still put 1 damage counter on Spiritomb?
I think the answer is yes...

2. Can I use Spiritomb AR's Darkness Grace if I have no Pokemon on my bench?
-If yes, do I put a damage counter on Spiritomb?

1. The answer is no. Notice the phrase "If you do, put 1 damage counter on Spiritomb". You only place a damage counter on Spiritomb, if you actually evolve something.

2. You can use the attack. You will just look through your deck and end your turn. Spiritomb does not take damage.
