  • antidakoda, Use the main server (the name is Pokemon Online) and click on ladder, you should be able to battle then.
antidakoda, Alrighty, I won't teach you tonight due to a busy schedule, but stay active on the forums here and I'll be able to teach, via simulator and pms
antidakoda, I don't think that would work very well. Remember that Garbodor shuts off all abilities, so Gothitelle's ability wouldn't work. You should lean towards not using evolutions if you can help it, as the giant EX's that dominate the game right now will downright crush any deck that's slower. There's a few that work, like Hydreigon and Blastoise, but besides that, Basics tend to be a better option.
antidakoda, Alright, here's what I've been thinking.

If you're looking for anti-meta, unfortunately, there's not a large amount of options. Landorus EX/Mewtwo EX/Terrakion is about the best you're going to find, but even then it doesn't fully beat the whole metagame. The current metagame is a lot like a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors, what one deck beats, another gets wrecked by.

Which is why I've come to think of Ho-oh EX as a deck you might really enjoy. It's able to tech in a lot of cards for different matchups, is extremely customizable, and has some pretty ridiculous combos it can pull off (Like doing 180 damage to a Darkrai turn 1. Yeah, that kind of ridiculous.) HOWEVER, it's unfortunately not at the tippy top of decks right now, so remember that this isn't necessarily the best option. I'm just warning you about that before you decide you want to play it (It's still very good, just Darkrai decks tend to be better).

Other options for decks are Darkrai varients, Eelektrik varients (has some pretty awesome combos but gets wrecked by Landorus EX), Landorus EX/Tornadus EX, and Blastoise/Keldeo. None of these seem to fit your playing style but there's no harm in knowing about them.

I unfortunately have to go to bed for now, but I'll be back tomorrow after you choose a deck you might want to play. Just shoot me a note and I'll help you out with the deckbuilding so you can start testing it out ASAP.
antidakoda, Keldeo/Blastoise does that :p (it's not that good of a deck, but if it gets set up it literally just burns through everything in its path.)

And yeah, no problem. Once you get set up with a deck, I assure you that you won't get uber-wrecked by stuff like Blastoise/Keldeo lol.
antidakoda, Alright, cool. You're right that Darkrai is overly amazing, Mewtwo is quite good (mainly because he can do so much damage for just a simple Double Colorless Energy), and Landorus is pretty good also.

Here's a link with all the "staples", meaning cards that are used in pretty much every deck: http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/thread-staples-of-the-black-white-format

Read that thoroughly to get a basic idea for the main cards you're going to see played in a lot of decks. After that, I'll give you a list of some decks that are winning tournaments currently, so you can build a list and be on your way. There's an online simulator called PlayTCG (playtcg.com) that you can use to test out your decks before actually buying cards, so I'll show you how to use that after you get to the point where you can compile a metagame deck (or anti-metagame, depending on what deck you choose :p).

If you've got any questions, just ask, and LMK after you read that article so I can hook you up with deck ideas. I have an idea of a deck that you might really like based on the conditions you've laid out in your thread.
Hey, I saw you were interested in getting started with the Pokemon TCG. I actually just made a post in your thread, but the post got deleted and the thread got locked for some reason x_____x. Probably just Pokebeach glitching.

Anyway, I'd be glad to show you the ropes and help you find some decks that you're comfortable with using. How much do you currently know about the Pokemon TCG? Do you know the basics of how to play?

Also, before I forget, welcome to Pokebeach!
