don()shinobi, the energy attachment for Pump-Up Smash is supposed to be mandatory. Obviously, the trick with that is, if you don't attach any energy, how do you prove you couldn't outside of revealing your hand (which gives the opponent an unfair advantage)?
Then shortly before BRs started, it was ruled that Pump-Up Smash's energy attachment is optional. Around the same time, it was ruled that, with Random Receiver (and by extent Quick Ball), you ALWAYS shuffle your deck after use, even if the 1st revealed card is a Supporter (or Pokemon).
