Actually, most of the video game critics praised the multiplayer features of AC 3 in E3. So, it's pretty much improved. The combat system, though, has definitely been revamped since the last few games.
I haven't gotten too far into the actual nitty-gritty itself, but to summarize it from what I've gathered so far, the game seems to be larger than the rest of the previous installments and the story line seems to be more intriguing. These are just what I can rattle off from the top of my mind, by far. It's not much, but it's all what I can say at this point, apparently.
