Well, you CAN use a Go board, but most Go boards are 19x19 size and Othello is normally played, at least from my experience, on a 9x9 (8x8 square) board. Although, Go can be played on a 9x9 board. Most Go games take place on a 19x19 board, there are professional players who play 9x9 games. I suppose if you don't own an exclusive Othello board you could use a Go board. However, I'm not entirely sure your "5 in a row" game is Othello, I'm just assuming that. I've never heard of wu zi chan.
