LLR, I don't know, but when I was a little kid my mom always said I love to see what happened after some reaction. She also said Pokemon completely filled that interest.To this day, I don't always have that interest anymore, but Pokemon is still in my heart.
To tell you the truth, I didn't have many friends before I switched from public to catholic schools. But Pokemon still kept me happy.
I love watching the anime in Japanese, then comparing the quality and language to the English dub. It's just fun for me, and I also love it when I recognize Japanese words, from simple stuff like watashi wa satoshi desu (I am Satoshi/Ash) to catching words in fast sentences, such as some really fast negai (wish) or something.
