It's a first where it's actually a usable/mechanically unique card too. If the reprint rule also applies to Pokemon cards then you should be able to use the Noble Victories print in your decks after this set releases. Really cool.
Yes and Orbeetle also have a dark and sinister theme to it. It has a permanently intimidating face. It has psychic powers that makes it capable of levitation and mind control. It's practically based on the Mad Scientist villain archetype, of which Team Rocket has in numbers (they are even elite...
1. The Japanese set has no obligation to cater to whatever the heck the English sets are doing with their combined sets. It's purely TPCis decision to shoot themselves in the foot, for decades.
2. "Anything better than Orbeetle" and it's a list of Pokemon written by Edgley McKiddinson. I'll let...
It's a mean looking pokemon with high intelligence and psychic powers, all useful traits to plan heists. If Hypno or Alakazam wasn't around in gen 1/2, and instead Orbeetle is there, it fits right in their place. Just look at the Orbeetle art there for crying out loud, if that doesn't scream...
You might be mistaking it for Regirock V, which was one of the first V Pokemon revealed years back. Still a good point though, Steel and Ice havent had a rule box pokemon in a while.
This one is rather decent. The first attack deals 40 + 60 x the amount of "Ethan's Journey" card in your discard pile. If you're playing an Ethan deck, you're definitely playing 4 copies of it, so it could hit for up to 280 for just 1 fire energy. It's probably not going to be the build around...
Can work, but then you're running 2 evolution lines (with one of them a stage 2 line even) with limited draw/search supports other than bug catching set. Sounds super clunky.
I completely forgot about Lilligant. Good call. Then you can probably run Iron Leaves as a finisher/secondary pivot attacker if you dont have another Yanmega set up. Seems to be a fun Grass Box archetype.
Here's a side by side comparison of the english yellow and japanese grey borders, with the foiling details present in the picture (I took them from google search, results seem to be from eBay listings)
The yellow border does not blend well with the radiant foil. It takes away the highlight from...
Maybe for the wizards era cards. After production moved back to Creatures the yellow borders are absolutely terrible. Just look at Radiant Pokemon cards.
