  • Remember when I told you about that guy who dropped Braun? Well, the guy who claimed him off waivers dropped him after one week, I put in a claim, and I got him on my team. :) Now a source is saying that even if suspensions are handed out for players' link in the Biogenesis case, it's likely those particular players won't serve the suspension until next season because of the appeals process.

    tl;dr SCORE.
I pm'd TDL 2 days ago asking to host a VG tourney, and now I see that you are a mod there. Can I host the tournament?
I'd like to think I'm getting better and what the holy hell did you really just compare my slashing abilities to that of Taylor Swift in a Nexus
why, yes I am, as a matter of fact

but it would've been cool if all three of us could've met there
TPO3, I'll PM you my Blastoise list in a bit lol, just don't spread it around. I generally let most of my friends see my lists :p You might have to change it around a bit for the new format but it'll at least give you an idea of where to go from. On the topic of how good a play it is, Blastoise will always be good. It's risky because it requires a difficult set up but it rolls through everything once it gets going. It actually has a pretty good matchup against V/G lol as long as they don't kill all of your Squirtles. Black Ballista can just clear all of their energy off the field and they won't really be able to recover.

I'm not sure about Darkrai/Garb next format (although you're right about Gothitelle being dead; the instant it starts doing well everyone will slam a Virizion into Plasma and it'll die down again). I can see it having a LOT of problems against V/G (which I don't think is very good anyway but it might see a large amount of play due to the hype and how early in the season it is). Darkrai/Garb normally focuses around completely shutting decks down and you can't really do that to V/G. You can hammer all you want but they'll eventually get the energy to begin sweeping through you. I'm just theorymoning but I can see that being a really bad matchup. You do gain some ground against Plasma now though that most lists will drop Laser and Blastoise is as good of a matchup as ever, so it's possible the deck is still very good. It would require extensive testing on my part to make any firm conclusion about it though.
    TPO3, Right now?

It's has great matchups (except for Gothitelle) and it's a decent deck but it can falter and collapse way too easily. It's Plasma matchup is also only good, not great. It also has the issue of being a pure anti-meta deck, meaning it will often just get demolished by anything that isn't metagame (not too big of an issue, as Klinklang had the exact same problem, but it's something to note).

Anyway, I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable playing it a tournament right now due to the ugly Gothitelle matchup and some consistency issues, but it's certainly a contender. It's just one of those decks that looks godly on paper but has a lot more in-game issues than you might expect. You should ask RogueChomp if you want to know more about it, as the primary information I have on it is heavy testing right before States and a little bit of testing right before Nationals. It did manage to get 2nd in Seniors though, so the deck is by no means bad.
Forreal? Yeah...I'm unaware. That's funny haha. I just think it'd be a little too slow in this format.
I know it's a lot. Side events are cool man. We'll see. I doubt it though. If someone could get me a ride - done.
