Really? Interesting. I've used CB Ferro before. It wasn't the most versatile Pokemon out there, but it definitely does the job well.

10th in OR for VGC Seniors today (it was T8). If I can't pull a ride with a friend, my chance at Nats have sunk....

Building a deck irl? Tough call. Almost any deck is pricey nowadays, but through many of the new-wave tins that just came out, you can get a ton of useful cards like Rescue Rabbit, Tour Guide, Max "C", and others all in the same tins, more or less. I'm going to build a Brotherhood of the Fire Fist deck when Cosmo Blazer (the next set) is released.

I hardly run heavy traps in Sams anymore, I pretty much go for broke every game, lol. Trap Stun is a common and smart choice, though.
