Looks like the small theory I had in my head appears to be true! What I was thinking was that Kyurem must have absorbed the DNA of N's Reshiram (from White)/Zekrom (from Black) which also explains the cover switch.

Wow, those new artworks of White and Black Kyurem look really cool! The poses look stunning and those 'tubes' don't look too bad either (somehow those reminded me a bit of Mewtwo), I also especially like the wing fading up to red on White Kyurem. I'm getting more and more excited for these...
