Quick google images search showed me that it's likely print runs and/or factory changes at the time. There's many for the entire EX era that're with the stamps and without. It's been a great many years since I bought ex era (when it launched) so my memory isn't 100%, but from what I can gather...

So PL:A mechanics wise vast change and for the better. Graphics, textures and overall engine? Total waste of time, GF need to step up or realize they can't do it.
