I like the idea of once-per-game attacks/abilities. They add a smidgen of strategy to a format that has too much autopilot-ism, since you can't just use them willy-nilly. Also I am really happy the BW templates are finally going the way of the Duduo. I look forward to seeing the finalized template.

I had a lot of success with Dark Hammer in theme deck tournaments, though it will be rotating out of Standard very soon. I personally think Sky Guardian will be the best theme deck in the coming format for now, but in a theme deck tournament it's kinda iffy since Lugia's strength is against EX...

You may want to consider buying singles. Generally it's significantly cheaper (outside of the occasional very expensive card) and you have a bit more control over what's in your collection, which is especially useful if there's a particular deck you're interested in making. If you're looking to...

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it does indeed have the set symbol -- it's the jungle plant to the right of the Weight stats! Early sets had the symbol in that area of the card instead of by the set number. :P

My biggest pet peeve at the moment is the inability to do anything with card overflow. I mean, I have nearly 70 Timburr from Plasma Storm, for example. It'd be nice to have a feature where you could turn cards into coins, or trade them in for a card of a higher rarity, or something along these...

Yup! Protection Cube (Flashfire 95) is a Tool that prevents any self-damage. With the rotation coming up it will be limited to Expanded play, however (unless it gets a reprint).
