    Discussion Golduck SM1 Viability

Energy Retrieval is nice in the face of ability lock. Bursting Balloon would also be a great tool choice to nab your KOs quicker.

True enough when this build doesn't run Shaymin. Probably need Super Rod too to recycle your ducks. Passimian also seems pretty nice, like a less fragile Gyarados. Perhaps with some FFBs and Strong Energy?

That Golduck sounds dang nasty. I need to figure out some nice partners for it. Maybe including it in Waterbox? Starmie EVO? Dragon Prayer actually seems interesting despite being an attack. It'd be a bit slow but it could be a nice generic option for energy acceleration.

Hau's in the English release, according to the setlist.

Is there any energy acceleration that'd be nice for Lunala-GX aside from Max Elixir? Maybe run both it and Solgaleo-GX for kicks.

Lurantis-GX feels like one of the best cards in set to me. Maybe put it with M Venusaur-EX?

With Stage 2 GX Pokemon having such huge HP counts, I can definitely see healing getting bigger in a format filled with them. Lunala has a lot of potential I think.

English Volcanion/Magearna Movie Trailer, How to Pronounce Their Names

yeah but you're entirely losing the intent of the japanese pronunciation, which was always clearly supposed to be "muh-gear-na" but that's what happens when phonetics limit loan words

    Greninja BREAK

That's one of the main reasons I'm testing it now. While I haven't really made that kind of use of it yet, chipping away with 1 energy spread is actually very nice in the early game. The retreat cost is the biggest bummer about it, sure, but it's still not too bad to deal with. I kicked my...

Right now I'm actually trying to tech in the Greninja promo for kicks. It actually seems okay as a 1-of.

That's a good point. I can say that Delinquent has been huge for me so far.

Max Potion is still one of the things I'm kinda juggling through. I think I'm just paranoid it'll be useless against many of those decks that can reach for OHKO like Darkrai/Yveltal, Xerneas BREAK/M Gardevoir-EX, and Mewtwo (sort of Volcanion too but that's not a tough matchup generally).

    Greninja BREAK

This is where I'm at now. I think I'm more or less solid, with tiny kinks I still wanna test through. I'm planning on heading to Fort Wayne with this.

Kinda feeling Decidueye-GX and Incineroar-GX the most here for Standard. I kinda feel Primarina-GX might be a bit slow there, but pretty strong alongside Blastoise and Keldeo-EX. Decidueye can obviously make nasty use of FoGP and Revitalizer, but I'm not sure about Standard fire support for...

News First 'Sun & Moon' English Set News!

I almost wonder if the game's trying to move in a direction where 3HKOs are the norm and 2HKOs (and even moreso OHKOs) are luxury, especially with how huge these stage 2 GX Pokes are.
