Ideally you will want to attach the energy to something else while getting a Wally off, but this is great insurance for Trevenant.

    Discussion Glalie EX Strategy

I haven't found Shine of Memories to be all that impressive. Against EX, the 50 extra damage it does over M Glalie's attack often doesn't matter because it's going to be a 2HKO anyway. I prefer the damage manipulation that Rough Seas offers. Rough Seas makes it harder for your opponent to set up...

It's a solid 2HKOer for a good price. It just seems like there are stronger options at this point. Maybe we get some more metal support it can use, it's cheap enough that Bronzong isn't a staple partner.

That's a strong ability. Slowking can wipe its opponent's active of energy, having it stranded with no way to attack. It's going to be a really annoying card to play against.

Slowbro could be interesting in the 3 prize half deck format. Sure would be a fun way to win a game.

I like the idea they were going for with this card's art, but it looks like Sudowoodo was just inserted into the card. They had a Trevenant background and put some basic Sudowoodo art on top of it.

I really enjoyed playing Durant during NVI and NXD, as did many others. I don't see this Durant ever matching the original era of Durant NVI, but it certainly has potential to be playable.

Mill Decks actively seek the win condition of decking their opponent out. The term comes from the MTG card Millstone.

Japan's XY9 Set: 'Rage of the Broken Sky,' New 'Battle Strengthening Sets'

Many of us did a 'make-a-card' in our minds about a Raticate BREAK based on the Raticate we saw. This is probably exactly what you thought should be fair. 110 HP and Super Fang for a DCE. 120 HP would be too high, Super Fang for a C too low. Given the idea of taking Super Fang Raticate and...

Japan's XY9 Set: 'Rage of the Broken Sky,' New 'Battle Strengthening Sets'

It's not a bad ability, but near useless on a Pokemon that can't be an attacker. It would make sense if it evolved into Raticate Break with Super Fang, allowing it to be paired with Ariados. Dirty Shock is able to get that final 10 damage in times Ariados is not in play or Raticate is facing...

    Discussion Noivern BREAK Partners?

I have been playing Noivern a lot lately and have had decent success. Because of Noivern Break, you don't need a hard hitting backup attacker. I run baby Yveltal for acceleration chip damage, Bunnelby to get DDE back, and promo Jirachi. I have also found 2 Noivern Break with a super rod is...

    Weakness and Resistance

Why not both? Some Pokemon have +__ weakness, other have x2. One might say this would be confusing, but it would give the TCG some of the intricacies that the VG has. It just becomes something you need to be more aware, which adds depth to card interaction. It would be more complex than a...

RBY 'Pokemon Red,' 'Blue,' 'Yellow' to be Released on 3DS Virtual Console!

I don't think it was just Nintendo coming up with this price. They figured they wouldn't lose half the potential sales at double the price. I wonder if they even discussed what the drop-off would be at $15. The fans 'have time' and 'have money' because there is no new Pokemon this year. To me...

No stand out Mega's for this card yet. Could be useful if we get a support/ability Mega.

If you wanted to, Burst Balloon could act as a 1-turn ability lock with Garbodor. Locking your opponent out of abilities on their turn while still being able to use abilities on yours. Like Hex Maniac, but it doesn't take up your supporter for the turn.

With eco-arm this tool is pretty scary. Plenty of situations where you're stuck taking 6 damage or passing.

If it wasn't for HTL being a Team Plasma card, I would actually be concerned about a reprint. I could see them printing an item card that says: "Your opponent's active Pokemon is now burned."

Japan's XY9 Set: 'Rage of the Broken Sky,' New 'Battle Strengthening Sets'

Not just the return of Garbotoxin, but with float stone as well. Garbodor was a bit different without float stone in format. He was liable to be stuck in the active and decks running him had to plan accordingly. So it's bad enough we are getting a reprint, it's even more lame it's going to have...
