“Iono Premium Tournament Collection” Releasing in April!

I’m actually kind of shocked that this product is still available on Pokémon Center right now, I remember the Marnie Premium Collection selling out pretty quickly. On the other hand, this isn’t 2021 here. The production of TCG sets and products aren’t hampered down by a loss in production due...

50 Cards Revealed from “Wild Force” and “Cyber Judge,” Including Tera Pokemon, ACE SPEC, Illustration Rares!

Eh, on the one hand it's nice to see that we're getting a massive reveal when the release is a few months away. On the other this kind of a nothingburger. I've put my thoughts on the "relevant" cards under this spoiler...

Van Gogh Pikachu Promo Releasing Again in February, Prices Dipping!

Well that's good to hear, I hope the amount is enough to mee- And there's the rub, the terms "good thinking" and "meeting demand" continue to be foreign concepts to TPCi and I doubt that'll chance unless a massive amount of people are willing to hoof it over to their HQ (everyone and dog knows...

Most Expensive Pokemon Cards of 2023!

I think part of it is TCGPlayer factoring in availability, I know Radiant Greninja is available in two sealed products (the Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR League Battle Deck and the Quaquaval ex Deluxe Battle Deck) and Astral Radiance packs while the version of Radiant Charizard reprinted in the...

Most Expensive Pokemon Cards of 2023!

Eh, I'm not too bothered by this list but I will say something about the No. 1 spot. I managed to score a Van Gogh Pikachu promo via Pokémon Center's disastrous launch and that basically showed how TPCi prefers to handle this kind of problem in all of it's ugliness: make empty promises and...

PokeBeach Podcast: Major Set Reveals This Weekend, Black & White Era Returning?

Stellar Tera Type is a bit funky in the video games, it’s more offense-aligned than normal Tera Types which can provide offensive and defensive support. The most notable effects are a one-time 1.2x boost to attacks (unless you’re in a Tera Raid where the boost is permanent), changing the effects...

Official Set Lists Released for Prize Pack Series Promos!

Eh, I’m still not a fan of these League-exclusive sets even if they are all reprints. I’m in the middle when it comes to giving League-goers something good, I preferred the old “get-a-crosshatch-holo-promo-and-code-card” stuff over these new Prize Packs and the older POP Packs (which are...

Pokemon Center Now Offering “Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat” Promo!

The easiest way to counteract bots would be to require having a state ID tied to your account and limiting the amounts of promos you get from one-per-order to one-per-account (in other words, mimicking what Nintendo does with their NSO-exclusive physical merch but adding in another layer of...

Pokemon Center Now Offering “Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat” Promo!

I managed to get one when they announced it, I had to add two OBF Booster Bundles to qualify since a bunch of people already cleaned out the 151 stock and the 3-pack blisters.

Collecting Best way to sell old Pokemon League Challenge prize promos?

Hey guys, long time poster here. I recently discovered some sealed packs of League Challenge prize promos whilst cleaning out my storage unit and I was wonder what would be the best way to sell ‘em. After doing some research and trying to sell ‘em in person I’ve basically left with a few...

Discussion I got two Mew promos and no MewTwo promo with my 151 Premium Collection box?

I’m seeing the Secret Illustration Rare promo going between $10-$15 USD, the Mewtwo Illustrator promo price range is harder to find due to eBay listings tending to sell it in a bundle with the Mew ex promo and the metal Gold Rare Mew ex but I’m seeing it going on TCGPlayer for around $3-$4 USD.

Collecting Taking card out of wrapper for better grade/price?

It’s less about the card itself and more about the plastic wrapper the card’s in. IIRC when you ship a sealed item to most grading companies they’ll grade the condition of the packaging rather than the card itself.

Japanese Police Arrest Suspect for Selling Counterfeit Pokemon Cards Online

Eh, this is a double-edged sword for me. On the one hand it’s nice to see people peddling counterfeit cards getting their just desserts but it really does show that Creatures Inc. and TPCi really don’t know how to properly gauge the hype for a given item. Some of the cards shown are simple...

Pokemon Scalpers Swamp Van Gogh Museum, Forcing Changes to Museum’s Purchase Policy

I kinda with @Yaginku on TPCi liking the publicity, regardless of it being positive or negative, these kinds of events tend to generate. It almost feels like whoever manages the TCG’s marketing and promotions used to work for companies like EA or Activision. But like I mentioned earlier the...

Pokemon Scalpers Swamp Van Gogh Museum, Forcing Changes to Museum’s Purchase Policy

If I had a nickel for every time a promotional Pokemon card gets swamped with scalpers I’d ha-no wait that analogy doesn’t work here. But seriously, this is getting out of hand. The policy at the museum should’ve been one-card-per-transaction-per-day rather than their disastrous...

Oddish Card from “Path to the Peak” to Release as Promo Card!

Umm... okay? I don’t really see a point in making this an actual physical promo but if that’s the way the cookie crumbles then so be it. That said I can see this being another Pokémon Center promo like the Special Delivery cards and the recent Illustrator Contest cards were.

Pokemon Worlds 2024 in Honolulu, Hawaii!

The Paradox Pokémon news is kind of what I expected, it's similar to Ultra Beasts but it's separated by time period. The news about ACE SPECs coming caught me by surprise since I thought that mechanic was dead and gone (Next year with Computer Search!).

    “Paradox Rift” Officially Previewed!

Definitely interesting, I also have a feeling that any TCG-related announcements that may happen at Worlds’ closing ceremony will involve Paradox Pokémon like Iron Valiant since we usually tend to get game-changing announcements around that time. To be fair to Great Tusk/Iron Treads that’s in...

“Path to the Peak” TCG Show Announced!

To paraphrase JonTron: Weird! Gross! EWWW! Yep, It’s that cheap & simplified animation style you see on every freaking cable network! Please tell me this is a TPCi-fronted venture (and I have a feeling it is due to one of the characters mentioning Championships Points, AFAIK no such thing...

New Paradox Pokemon and Evolutions Revealed for Scarlet & Violet DLC!

I’m fine with all of these Pokémon, I’m even okay with Iron Crown despite finding a lot of the Violet Paradox Pokémon to be a bit bland design-wise. Almost all of the past Paradox Pokémon have some sort of dinosaurian aspects to ‘em when you think about it... Great Tusk: Mammoth mixed with...
