PokéBeach Create-A-Card: Sept. 2014 - Random *Congrats to the Winners*

RE: PokéBeach Create-A-Card: Sept. 2014 - Random I would like to sign up for image-based. I wonder what I'll get!

    Quick Competitive Play Questions

It's a meta-game call. Coming up to US nationals, Yveltal/Garbodor was the most hyped up deck, and many considered it the best deck in the format. Then, when the tournament actually occurred, we saw a vast number of player play Raichu instead to improve their matchup against Garbodor variants...

'Hoenn Collection Box': Primal Kyogre-EX and Primal Groudon-EX! [9/2]

EX-citing! But there's not much to talk about, since all we know is: They exist. Question is, what will TPC do to distinguish these (most likely) unique cards from regular Mega Evolution cards? Will it be a major cosmetic change? Or perhaps some mechanical difference? I wonder if they will...

Help A Yugioh Player Get In To Pokemon?

RE: Help A Yugioh-Player Get In To Pokemon? What I generally suggest to new players is to take a look at the Deck Garage forum. There you can find a ton of community-made lists with strategies listed for them. If you look at these lists carefully, you can get an idea of what cards are staples...

    Is Donphan (PLS) Viable?

Again, if you're using Wreck to take your last prize(s), then it doesn't matter at all. It's the deck's only way of taking a OHKO, so it should always be kept in mind. And there are some circumstances in which taking a knockout might be more advantageous than keeping a lock, such as if your...

Gengar EX and M Gengar EX

Safeguard is, in fact, a thing like Mr. Mime's Bench Barrier. So Shadow Attack does get around it. EDIT: I'm wrong. Boo.

Beat 'em or Join 'em: Dealing with Landorus-EX decks

I kinda like Suicune and Mr.Mime (in decks that can run them). Between those, you basically force your opponent to rely on Garbodor, which can be Lysandre'd or Megaphone'd. Almost every Fighting deck runs just 2/2 Garbodor, and hardly ever are all 4 of those cards available throughout the game...

OLD: The Fake Card Resources and Help Thread

Having done one full art card, this is how I did it: Start with a basic layer of alternating one-pixel lines and transparency. This layer should be between 1.5 and 2 times the size of the canvas of the card. Expand this layer to 150% width/height (just to make it so you can actually see the...

'Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Special Pack - M Diancie-EX' Releasing in November [9/1]

Mega Diancie's ABCDEFGHIJKL attack will function similarly to Cedric Juniper, but instead of guessing the height of the Pokemon, you have to guess how it's spelled! If the opponent guesses incorrectly, the defending Pokemon is knocked out. That's what I'd like to believe, anyways...

Head Noiser, M Manectric-EX, Chandelure from ‘Phantom Gate’ [8/29]

The existence of Spirit Link cards basically nullify any chance of mega stones appearing in the TCG, especially as ACE SPEC cards (as that mechanic has very clearly been discontinued). That, and printing so many different cards as ultra rares would take up a fifth of the overall set, and make...

"Fruity Mentos" are ectoplasm. It's what ghosts are made out of, Since it's Phantom Gate.

Yveltal EX / Darkrai EX / Hydeigon

RE: Yveltal EX/ Darkrai EX, Hydeigon I'm very experienced with Yveltal/Hydreigon in past formats, so I'll try to give some advice (even if I think that making decklists for cards not even released in Japan is kinda dumb). Drop 1-2 Darkness Energy, Psychic Energy, and 1-2 DCE. Add in 3-4...

    Pretty sure it's Seismitoad-EX. Not Ducklett-EX :P

    Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U

You could just buy a new one in the interim, take (very) good care of it, and return/sell it when and if you want to buy a new one. You'll lose a bit of money doing this, but at least you won't have to wait! Do note that if you choose to do this, you probably should just buy a regular 3DS and a...

    Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U

In light of the recent announcement of the new 3DS models, I might advise holding off if you can. They probably won't be around in North America for a good while (not before the holidays, I would imagine), so it's a long wait, but you might end up regretting purchasing it so soon to it becoming...

Hydreigon and Nine Other Cards Revealed from 'Phantom Gate' [8/31]

Just as I put away Yveltal/Hydreigon, TPC pulls a fast one :P This set is really impressing me so far. Can't wait for November!

    Quick Competitive Play Questions

I don't really like the idea. These cards have virtually no synergy with each other. There's no compelling reason to run Pangoro, Beartic, and Ursaring in one deck. If you want a hard hitting, fast deck, you're far better off running straight plasma.

'New Nintendo 3DS' Models Announced [8/29]

I would assume that the New 3DS (and XL) simply has a larger battery. Perhaps the hardware is more energy efficient. But mostly a larger battery.

Head Noiser, M Manectric-EX, Chandelure from ‘Phantom Gate’ [8/29]

Head Noiser can't hinder a deck that doesn't use EX cards to attack. And I don't see any no-energy deck in the format that would be affected by it at all. Not gonna say this is absolutely true, since this card hasn't even been released in Japan yet, but I'm almost certain that playing tool...
