I'd be interested in seeing how this deck fairs against Greninja since that deck is becoming heavily popular as the price of Greninja Break has skyrocketed. I just dont see any KO power here unless you involved a Glaceon, but even then you're still only looking at max damage of 80 (with FFB)...
I played this deck in states and did quite well with it. I dont like the 1-1 Slowking. I had that for a LC and honestly I dont think I ever got it out. I've seen the Hoopa plays, but I didn't play that or Latios. Not to say you can't play them, just be careful with having Hoopa on the bench...
I still think by splitting, while although I do agree with your points on matchups, you're going to get too heavy on pokemon. 2-1 I think is a pointless lineup just for the fact that if you're using it based on matchups and the one or 2 you need is prized, your strategy failed.
I'm failing to see how a fast deck helps milling decks. I get the thought process since they mill cards for you, but when they only need 4-5 turns to win and you need 6-7, you're still behind. Not to mention the meta decks now are really easy to setup, where mill decks, you're struggling to...
The problem is the current meta, not the DL. Trevenant, NM, Greninja and YGZ, don't have to run a full bench, let a lone 8 bench Pokemon. Mega Ray, yes, but that isn't seeing much play in this meta because of the top tier decks.
Zygarde and Lucario should never be in a DL together. Too much energy for both in a DL and 2 different plays with both of them. Anymore, I almost always run FFB over MB just because of the extra HP that prevent a lot of OHKO's. Like I said before, 20 extra dmg on Lucario doesnt add up...
If you do bait or they over-extend early on, a simple stadium play will shorten their deck and escetially slow/shut you down. I wish the card read differently, but for now I dont see this being an "alone" pokemon in a DL
I still like Lucario right now because of the Meta. Yes Shaymin give you draw support, but if you get item locked, it then becomes more difficult to search and get those shaymin's out which then makes Lucario's second attack more valuable. I have been wanting to toy with the new develution...
I feel like the attack strategy is contradicting. Chaos tower for Darkrai, but that'll ruin Snorlax attack, without a stadium it's good for snorlax attack but bad for darkrai.
I'm still failing to see how someone is going to get "baited" with the skyfield play. As soon as they see Riolu or Zorua, that should sound a bunch of alarms. Unless they have no clue with Zoroark or Metal Lucario's attack do.
This deck wont be fast enough without Wally to be able to evolve into Hypno your first turn. Without being able to evolve T1/T2, you're left waiting to do a useful enough attack. Therefore, I think this DL would be too slow to make it worth while. Have to find a way to get Hypno out faster to...
I didnt see wailord in the top 8, so I'm guessing not as well as he/she had hoped. I dont see wailord fitting into this meta right now. The problem is you're not going to get enough wins with it to push you forward. Granted you wont lose a lot with this DL, but you also aren't going to win...
I never said this DL was built to counter NM either. All I said was that I dont see it stopping OHKO's from NM attacks.
I agree poke4trade. The thing that will win you more matches than anything is finding a deck that counters the meta better rather than finding the "best deck out there"
I'm failing to see how Diancie EX will stop a NM OHKO... So if you absorb 50 dmg from use of ability and hard charm, NM can still OHKO with 10 NMer's in the discard pile. But that's not what you should be worried about. NM DL aren't building for the OHKO of all EX's, they're being built for...
Jolteon is a OHKO because of weakness and should be Lysandre'd out as soon as it comes on the board. So there's no worries there, plus you can always lysandre up another pokemon for the KO and only take the 70dmg from Jolteon. If you're THAT worried about Jolteon, run Carbink/Break yourself...
