    Help Are these cards good?

Misty's Determination: I like and still use it! I added it to decks to look for just that one card like DCE, and it lets you check the top 8 for 1 discard as opposed to say Sycamore discarding everything and drawing 7. I still keep it for that purpose over Energy Lotto because while it is your...

    Help Shell Trap question

Safeguard reads, "Prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to this Pokémon by your opponent's Pokémon-GX or Pokémon-EX." The damage counters placed by Shell Trap are an effect of it's attack so they are prevented by Safeguard.

    Ruling Shining Mew

My mistake, I keep having the impression it’s from the discard. You’re very right with it being any energy from the deck.

    Ruling Shining Mew

You can grab special energy from the (EDIT) deck with it. It would need to state basic energy specifically otherwise.

    Expanded Nagnadel box

Edit: Totally forgot that Dawn Wings Necrozma is an Ultra Beast. Throw one of those in for switching. Good start! There's a handful of changes that I'd think to make so I've written up my own version of the list: You don't need every Ultra Beast in this deck and honestly there's a few worth...

    Discussion Playing Tech for Cyrus

So I was looking at how powerful Cyrus is in this format with benches full of evolved and support Pokemon, and was wondering: Is it worth adding a tech to a deck in order to play Cyrus? This means hindering decks like Zoroark, Metagross, Gardevoir, Solgaleo & anything else that fills their...

    Expanded Help updating Donphan deck!

I'm a big fan of Donphan decks from back when they were Standard so I like what's happening here. I do have a few suggestions though: Drop Hawlucha. It's attack isn't going to be viable in present game with how scarce EXs are compared to GXs. If you want a free retreater, Tapu Koko promo is the...

    Ruling Golisopod GX First Impression

No, NeedleKingSR is correct here. The Pokemon that became the active in this scenario is Wimpod and not Golisopod GX. The check for the card is if Golisopod GX has been on the bench, which it had not because it evolved while in the active position. You have to treat evolved Pokemon separate from...

    Discussion Enhanced Hammer Errata?

To go along with your tool comparison, Field Blower is the only way to remove tools from your own Pokemon. You can on the other hand usually remove special energy from your own Pokemon through discarding them when you retreat. I can't see an errata being issued as the card's effect isn't...

    Standard Janky Raticate Break Deck!

After some testing it may prove that Koko is a better pick, but for now I'm gonna stick with Celebi. It's ability has helped me out a handful of times in past Raticate variants. Raticate already has free retreat so I don't see it as an important selling point. If you're in a situation where...

    Standard Janky Raticate Break Deck!

I LOVE Raticate and its Super Fang since back in Plasma Freeze with Hypnotoxic Laser! Here's the list I've been debating myself: Pokemon - 19 4 - Ratata (EVO) 4 - Raticate (BKP) 3 - Raticate BREAK (BKP) 4 - Nihilego GX (CRI) 2 - Tapu Lele GX (GRI) 1 - Celebi (Promo) 1 - Spiritomb (STS) Trainer...

Discussion Is Alolan Muk GX still viable?

Alolan Muk will gain a lot of potential with Nihilego and it's confuse and poison ability. I'd suggest testing out some builds once Crimson Invasion releases if you're really interested in the blob.

    Discussion Counter Energy/Catcher

Yeah use Tapu Koko, Weavile, Bronzong, and/or Necrozma to spread damage around then take knock outs with either Spiritomb, Tapu Lele Promo, or Espeon EX. Oh Mew will be perfect with counter energy and a spread deck! Great method to accelerate/recover special energy along with special charge...

    Discussion Counter Energy/Catcher

I'm interested in running Counter Energy in a Spiritomb (STS) spread deck since it waits to take 6 prizes. Counter Energy will help fuel Damage Play's [D][C] cost or just act as another DCE for Tapu Koko, Bronzong, and/or Honchkrow.

News New Solgaleo-GX and Lunala-GX in November Starter Set!

Sinnoh confirmed? Also so thankful that this will fill the awkward void of no VS Seeker or other great draw supporters.

    Help Question about deck building

Yes, you must evolve a Mega Evolution Pokemon from its basic EX counterpart like the example of Glalie EX into Mega Glalie EX. I specify basic EX because a stage 1 Glalie or Glalie-GX cannot evolve into M Glalie EX.

    Ruling Miltank and Gengar SM4

Wait if you decide to place the damage first then heal wouldn't that knock out your Pokemon before it gets to heal? The professor's example above allows it to reach 0 hp before healing for the 90 hp. That doesn't seem right when checking for the knock out. They should really make a more formal...

    Discussion Tomorrow New ban list

I have my fingers crossed for an errata on BW/XY era cards to include GX with any reference of EX so Brigette, Silver Mirror/Bangle, Safeguard Pokemon, etc. will be adjusted and keep relevance in this format.

    Discussion Fun Deck Suggestions?

Build a Super Fang Raticate or Raticate Break deck in any format. Instant KOs from poison damage are so amusing.

Expanded Tapu Lele GX vs. Jirachi EX

You've got to weigh each of their other differentiating qualities: Tapu Lele GX: 170 HP, Energy Drive attack, No weakness, must be searched out with Ultra Ball, Pokemon Fan Club or Olivia. Jirachi EX: 90 HP, No good attack, fire weakness, searchable with Hoopa EX, Level Ball, Ultra Ball or...
