Well, Pokémon games are often released on the 22nd. Look at Platinum and Diamond & Pearl. Despite this, however, I doubt the date is true. Gamestop is usually bad when it comes to release dates.

I've only gotten 2 shinies in the wild ever since I started playing Pokémon which makes me feel like they're extremely rare. I mean, like, event Pokémon can only be obtained for a certain time but there's so many people who attend the event so if you miss the event you can always trade a Pokémon...

RE: 4th generation over. Man, I can't believe Generation 4 is coming to an end. Now that I think of it, it was actually a pretty good generation. It started Wi-Fi Battling and all those other good stuff.

I was completely underleveled when playing SoulSilver, it was nothing like Gold where my Typhlosion was overleveled by like, 10 levels. But that was probably because back in that day I only focused on training one Pokémon.

If I'm correct there's a glitch in Generation 1 that could get you a Mew. And like what Aj1234119 said, you could get one by depositing 999 Pokémon at Pokémon Ranch, but it costs quite a few Wii Points on the Wii Shop Channel and is only compatible with Diamond and Pearl.
