The Gym series had so many non-canon setup that I really liked. Loved Lt Surge's Fearow and Erika's Dragonair for example. They felt right for some reason

Im not a competitive player in the games or the cards but I always found the Tera gimmick to be lame. Just went more downhill each one after Mega when they probably should have stuck with mega to begin with.

As someone who only collects illustrations and special illustrations for my pokedex yes. But also secretly happy as I can keep my wallet happy while I work on getting backlogged special illustrations I've yet to buy lol

Same. That's why I haven't collected VMAX or teras for my illustration focused pokedex. However if they eventually do Mega evolution illustrations I'm all in. The busy card styles of the XY era megas don't go well next to all my other cards

This might be a hot take but good! I don't love the 3d pokemon models so will take IRs and SIRs over FAs any day. Is there really no regular illustration arts? I swear I saw it in the description. Just didn't specify how many.

I have never been a trainer super fan myself. Hence why I did a IR and SIR themed pokedex binder. Don't have to worry about trainers, FAS or collecting all sets
