I used to just use the sleeves from the Elite Trainer Boxes but when I got the Dragon Shield Matte, I never looked back. Mostly because most of my past sleeves are damaged now.

It's sad to think most of these packs will be bought by Go fanatics and they'll have awesome pulls only to be trashed since they only want the pin to represent their oh so undying love for their team.

I agree. I thought Generations was the 20th anniversary set. Evolutions as being a base set reprint seems like a lazy way to cash in on nostalgia.

This is what's bothering me. I'd like to get one but without a playmat, it just seems lackluster. And it's quite hard to find playmats where I live.

I think it's a nice nostalgia trip seeing as the 20th anniversary merch are focused more on Gen 1 since it started it all.

I can't remember opening packs from before I stopped TCG. I do remember the cards I had before was a Base Set Charizard that I got as a prize and the Rocket's Zapdos I got from a friend.

I've just gotten back to TCG after quitting during the EX era. I have built a deck but it contains promo cards. Does that mean they are not legal in the standard rotation since they are inherently not part of any given expansion sets?

If you count japanese only cards: definitely the Mega Charizard X Poncho Pikachu. It's the combination of the favorite pokemon of my girlfriend and I. If only the english cards count then definitely the Radiant Collection Charizard along with Charmander and Charmeleon.
