This seems like it could either be a very bad troll, or a very dumb legitimate leaker. I'd rather not assume he's a troll, even though he could be, because there's equivalent evidence he's dumb as all hell.

No, it actually means he's sexist. Unless Nintendo flat out told him "hey, this mode here is for girls" he looked at the mode, said "Oh, I get it, cause girls would rather pet pokemon than battle." and then wrote the speculation.
