‘Team Magma vs. Team Aqua Double Crisis’ Mini-Set in January! [10/27]

Head TPCi Product Manager: Alright team, we need something that will really sell these useless half-deck boxes. Ideas?
Bob: Well they seem to like booster packs. Let's put in a couple of those.
Manager: Yes, ok. But we really need something more than the typical 2 booster pack trick.
Kim: Maybe a cool Promo card?
Manager: No, no, no. That's too.... predictable. Besides, Arita is on vacation right now and all our other artists are still in therapy circles because of when 5ban took over a whole set. I mean, 5ban is still here but we can't risk giving Kanako Eo another heart attack with more 3d models.
Jim: How about five Energy cards?
Manager: Brilliant, Jim.

Yay for another mini set. I'm all for it as long as the cards don't end up being worth $2 again like Radiant Collection.

Considering that it's pretty obvious at this point that Sharpedo and Camerupt are getting Mega Cards in this Mini-set, that will be nice for when this set eventually hits America. If they are playable, they could probably become decent Budget Decks.

I don't know, at thirty four cards I have to wonder if all of these will simply be converted into our Primal Clash set as Raidant Collection was 'converted' into Legendary Treasures. The oddity of course might be if they choose to put Camperupt EX, M. Camperupt EX, Sharpedo EX, and M. Sharpedo EX when we already know of eight of the twelve variants of EX cards in that set, assuming of course they have any in this mini set.

I do love me some mini sets. I'll probably only buy one box this time since I ended up with so many duplicates from both Radiant Collection and Dragon Selection, but they're still a lot of fun, and it's a nice way to release smaller sets of cards and so something a bit more creative. I can't wait to see what they have planned that will make this set stick out. :D

Most pokemon have their pokedex art entry incorperated in the TCG at some point. I'm still waiting for that Kyogre drawing to be in the TCG.

Some of the art they have on the deck boxes of the theme deck is art that I would love to see on an actualy card. Recent ones that I like are the Furious Fists deck picture of Sylveon and Flashfire deck picture of Meowstick. The Kyogre on the dummy deck box would be neat in card art.

It's actually pretty lazy, but seeing the old, simply Kyogre and Groudon artwork on new official products brings such a warm feeling. Love it.

I think TPCi should go beyond the typical 4 main booster sets per year when it comes to releasing booster sets.

What I am trying to say is, do some side booster sets, just like what MTG did with Modern Masters and Conspiracy, and what Yugioh does with the battle packs, and the hidden arsenals.

So for this, they could do something similar to dragon vault, except that rather releasing them in sets of 3 in a blister, release them as 5 card packs individually, and make the cards in the set all holo, or if they are not all holo, price them at a buck or so.

To summarize, TPCi should do mini-sets.
