“Battle Partners” Secret Rares Revealed!

The secret rares from Battle Partners are now being posted to social media by Japanese fans! The set releases in Japan on Friday. We will get these cards in our Journey Together set in March.

For this set there are no Special Illustration Rares for Supporter cards — no Brock, Iris, or Ruffian. In their place, we’re getting more Trainer’s Pokemon SIRs (featuring their Trainers in the artwork). This will likely be the case for the rest of this block, as it’s supposed to celebrate specific Trainers and their Pokemon...

I’m honestly happy to see Salamence and Volcanion to get SIRs! This is the first time both Pokemon ever got any sort of special treatment in years (Volcanion since XY Steam Siege, and Salamence since Sun and Moon Dragon Majesty). Also, this basically confirms that there will no longer be SIR Supporter cards for most likely the rest of this era. Rest in Peace.

I really have to say that Hop's Wooloo is possibly one of the most inspiring pieces of art on a Pokemon card I've seen recently. Just the two of them in a grass field, just looking out to the distance. Wow.

N's Zorua and N's Zoroark's AR/SARs are done by the same artist, so that's the story-connecting one for this set.

I do the same and put them in. I may decide if there is ever a version without.
