That's a shame honestly. Even if the wonderfully over-the-top rocket name was a bit too much, I was hoping that the remaining owner's Pokemon sets would continue Journey Together's <noun -> adverb> naming convention. I like when a group of expansions are tied together by their names. Gym Heroes/Gym Challenge, Unleashed/Undaunted/Triumphant, Next Destinies/Dark Explorers/Dragons Exalted. Missed opportunity

"Don't fix if not broken" The Glory of Team Rocket is god tier naming,
they can do it even if there a non-rocket cards, remember surging sparks last year, they named it an electric theme even though there's a Paradise Dragona inside(dragon set).

I'm guessing this will be a set close 200 cards before the secrets? 2 full japanese expansions + 2 decks resounds like it. And I'm hoping we get a ho oh SIR as well as a misty one. Perhaps a psyduck one? Or will it be the Gyarados?

To be fair Paradise Dragona wasn't even a true dragon set either. Sure it was headlined by a Dragon, and there's a lot of typeshifted Dragons in there, but for the most part it's just a mini set. Same with Supercharged Breaker. Just headed by an Lighting type. Combining the two of them is easier.
I do still agree the naming is kind of meh. Could have used something else that evokes the villainous team more.
because that would imply that the set focused on Dark Pokemon, and it doesn't. That said Bring back Dark Pokemon. And Light Pokemon. And the Fairy Type, cowards!
Although "Destined Rivals" doesn't quite roll of the tongue like "Team Rocket" it's still a cool name and more appropriate than anything with 'Rocket' in it.
I don’t think the title should be more villainous as the set includes far more non rocket trained than actual rocket. Ethan, Cynthia, Misty, Arven, Steven and Marnie. And that only given that the Rocket set won’t include any other Trainer Pokemon.
Your point was “it would tickle nostalgia” - something you would only need to sell more product. So what did I miss there?You seem to don't get my point.
I think the fact that we're done with ace specs should make pull rates for everything else a bit better to compensate
