“Inferno X” Set Trademark for the Pokemon TCG!

A new trademark for Inferno X (インフェルノX) has been filed by Pokemon. It’s under the same terms as trademarks used for set names in the past.

We usually discover trademarks around six to nine months before their sets release, so we could see this in October or November based on the current release schedule. Sometimes trademarks are revealed out of order, however.
The “X” in the set name may be a reference to X&Y, as we’ll be entering the Mega Evolution block later this year. The first Mega Evolution sets in August, Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia, will feature Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex.

Since ex (and Tag Team) refer to Mega Evolutions by their full nomenclature and not just "M" like in Gen 6, I wonder if it will be called Mega Charizard X ex.

Does the fact that we only have this one trademark confirm that this will be a standalone set? It feels like we should have an accompanying "y" set with mewtwo or the other zard or something.

A 2.5 year era is so interesting. Don’t think it has happened before. I bet the Mega block will last 1.5 years and the first new megas will be releasing in the first main set of next year.
