“Mega Brave” and “Mega Symphonia” TCG Sets Releasing in August, Mega Gengar ex and Mega Diancie ex Decks!

Can we please stop raising the HP and damage caps after this? God no more. Find a way to do your job and design better mechanics and cards than just raising the HP caps.
These cards have less HP per prize card rewarded than most double prizers. Hope this helps!

You were an okay run SV. Sure, your stupid hats ruined a lot of cards, you underutilized this generations gold star mechanics and ushered a new era of horror for fans and collectors alike... but you did try to make some changes for the better early on.

Let us not forget the early set pull rates, the death (and permanent might I add, aka don't you dare ever bringing them back) of rainbow rare cards. The love towards small egg Pokémon, the inclusion of special illustration rares that have a trainer featuring Pokémon they love and use. For me personally, my special illustration rare Mew from fates is my favourite card from SV and I doubt it will be overtaken unless BW/Rocket pulls a rabbit out of the hat.

Hopefully Mega will be a great era, I won't cross my fingers. I have one ask, a special illustration rare of Mega Charizard X. Have it done by Naoki Saito. That is all.
Good luck getting it, it'll be $2000 and from a scalped set. It'll probably be Shinji Kanda or AKIRA EGAWA art, be Dragon-type, and have an attack that does 400 damage, and also be competitively viable.

Scarlet and Violet era could best be described as the PTCG equivalent to Morbius. The beginning was good, really pushing the narrative of somebody behind the scenes was actually trying to make everything fun, but they peaked way too early with Paldea Evolved and the rest of it was confusing and hard to follow.

If it were either of those I would most likely not be interested in them anyway. AKIRA EGAWA really does not draw a very good Charizard. Of all the past incarnations of Charizard card artwork, the ones who delivered in my opinion the better English exclusive cards were GIDORA (Lost Origin TG), Hideki Ishikawa (Lance's Charizard V), KIYOTAKA OSHIYAMA (Charizard VSTAR Promo) and Kouki Saitou (Charizard ECARD Skyridge).

Hotishi Ariga did an amazing Charizard EX as well.

Naoki Saito is an amazing artist and with examples such as the following I think he could deliver a very beautiful Mega Charizard X Special Illustration Rare.

Don’t Like Satis Art, too anime too cute. Why do you call the cards English exclusive tho? I hate Charizard, but the 151 art was the best it ever had.

THIS IS SO EXCITING!! The Mega Diancie EX box was my FIRST ever box! I still have the promotion cards and they're my everything!!

Yeah that came out wrong. I meant to say cards that were in English and Japanese, as opposed to the Ariga which is exclusively Japanese.

Really hoping for illustration rares for basically all of them.

Don't get me wrong XY era megas were cool but you could never get full body shots of them due to the style (same with new standard ones since they're all likely to be ex cards).

Plus both XY era megas and current standard ex use "3D pokemon" models, I'd like to see more "2D" art or anime style mega cards if that makes sense

I am hopeful since basically every paradox Mon got an illustration, but megas would all be ex so not a guarantee since they'd have to be SIR

Meh as an actual gen IX fan this era was fun and relatively pretty well done, gameplay mechanics aside. There's things far from perfect ofc but I'll always appreciate they included every notable trainer into a card somehow (and all of them have full arts). Teras are actually quite pretty since I happen to like the crystal effect and the hats werent that noticeable (so no it didnt terrorize every one, I did see tons of opening videos where there were absolute no hate comments on hats, like maybe people didnt love them but they werent as frail just bc they exist). They also covered quite a hight portion of new pokemon as ex (still not counting them out I know Arboliva ex will happen). Also they covered a quite high percentage of new evolution lines through art rares literally we only missing Lokix and Glimmora line + Annihilape, which I still hope we can see before the year ends. The art for IRs never dropped and there's so much I still look forward to collect. I was a bit disappointed by both high end sets I gotta admit tho. Regardless cant wait for gen X to drop to scare all the genwunners again.

I liked the SV era. If anything this mega subset is an extension of it. I think the art has never been better and as a collector that’s what I’m here for.
They have done an amazing job with IR cards and making sure so many Pokemon have been included with those. I feel like most gen 9 Pokemon at least got something.

My biggest complaint is that some of the SIR artworks have been a bit underwhelming. So many great ones, but a few have been a bit of a letdown. Many IR cards have better art than some of the weaker SIRs

Meh, I’m still not excited about these, they should’ve held off on dropping ‘em until the new year to limit the amount of time they share with early exs. I’m already wasn’t happy with Regidrago VSTAR overstaying its welcome and I’m not pleased with Psychic Embrace Gardevoir ex sharing space with Mega Gardevoir ex (even after factoring in the loss of Refinement Kirlia).
We need bad/mid sets to cool off the market but I can totally see it happen getting a mega Lucario and Gengar SIR and the hype continues
The only way the market will cool off is if TPC gets its act together and fixes the problem it has in regard to printing, distribution, and chase card pull rates. If distributors are charging above wholesale (and in certain cases selling them on third-party marketplaces, it’s a known fact that MJ Holdings sells its products under the table for 2x-3x MSRP) and investors can game the price of a high-demand SIR because SIRs in general have a pull rate of two-per-booster-case then the problem will only get worse.

Also, be careful about using the terms “bad” or “mid” in this regard. One could say that a truly “bad” set would one devoid of FAs/IRs/SIRs.

So does this mean reg I will be the first set to not have 4 main sets associated with it? Every single regulation since Sun and Moon has always had 4 main sets and 1 or 2 special expansions, so is reg I just gonna be two main expansions (JTG and Destined Rivals) and 1 special expansion (the Black and White one thats been rumored)?

For me it's a rushed ending to SV. IMO, if mega sparks the change from SV to the next saga, all trainer pokemon jp sets should gave been combined to form of a mega crown zenith.

No. We already know that Mega Lucario/Gardevoir are still regulation-mark I, there will be no change. There is still going to be 4 main sets, just 2 in SV era and 2 in MEGA era.

Damn, Pokemon going in hard from the get go, and giving us a Mega Gengar ex. Would be cool if there was a potential SAR in the deck just like Gengar VMAX was.
