“Pokemon Legends: Z-A” To Release in Late 2025, Features Real-Time Battles!

They picked the 3 worst starters, yippee. Excited to see more AZ lore, also to see which other pokemon they give Megas to, seems like all the originals (except maybe the ORAS ones, they'll likely be there) will make a return

That’s a fair question. Lore-wise, Snivy honestly would have been more French than either Chikorita or Tepig, and Piplup would also be fitting for the region given Empoleon’s Napoleonic inspiration, but Pokémon starters aren’t necessarily based on their region (As evidenced by the fact that Snivy and Piplup weren’t introduced in a region based on France).
Popularity-wise, I’ve heard Tepig isn’t very popular, but we should just be glad we were spared the fate of Mega Incineroar (Not gonna like, it feels unlikely we’re going to get regional variants in this game).
 
Also, if ORAS Megas are in the game, Hoenn starters are off the table unless they wanted to include all three, as are Kanto starters. Sinnoh might feel a bit recent given you could find them in the wild in the previous legends title, and Kalos starters will likely be found in the wild. So the only real options were some combination of Chikorita, Totodile, Snivy, Tepig, Litten, Popplio, and the Galar starters (And perhaps the Sinnoh starters if they didn’t mind them getting the legends starter treatment after appearing in a Legends game).

If we get another legends game, does this mean the options narrow down to Snivy, Litten, Popplio, the Galar starters and the Paldea starters? Or could Kanto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and/or Kalos starters be back on the table? (Imagine Snivy, Litten and Popplio being the starters for a legends game.)
 
I don't like it that much that there are 2 starters from one gen, but I like Chikorita and Totodile. Chikorita might be one of my top 5 starters (not as a player, because I don't play the video games, just watch other people play, but by design and connection), because Bayleef was my first non-basic gen 2 card I pulled in my first Neo Genesis pack as a small child. So I would indeed like Mega Meganium.
However, the starters are not the most important part for me. I hope for ~20 new Megas, and 20+ other new Pokémon/forms.
 
Honestly i was hoping for the game to fully past related, thinking the legends game were exploring past lore not newer modern related things. though the battle gui and system is amazing...
and will be interesting how the game will play out. Vinnie is funny character too lol

Exactly, the remakes would never live up to the originals, let alone to B2W2.

If they ever touch Unova again, they should just make a new Black 3/White 3 instead.

this is what im hoping for seamings though pokemon made choosing my starter easier lol! Kinda makes sense tbh cause they picked pokemon that dont have megas in a region with the mega evo gimmick so we could possibly see it in the future...
 
<my opinion>The only thing that would have made this years pokemon announcements even less thrilling would have been a black and white remake. I get wanting a remake so it can be, you know, good. But that generation sucked so much. Dumb hypocritical characters, blandly designed pokemon, and pointless changes. This is all in comparision to the other games, they were fun in their own way.</my opinion>
 
The real time battles seem kind of mid, and I was also hoping for new megas revealed in the trailer. I doubt there won't be any, but still disappointing. At least the game looks good and the starters could be worse. (Definitely picking Totodile)
