“Pokemon TCG Pocket” Now Out Globally: Full Guide, New Accessories!

The one thing that annoys me is that you can get doubles of the same card in a pack. Why though? make it seem like a real pack.

Got it a couple hours ago and I've been enjoying it so far for. Opened quite a few packs, done some wonder picks and tried a few of the battles against the AI. Haven't tried making my own deck or anything yet.

I've played it for a bit, and while the battle mechanic will obviously never compare to the real thing, the artwork was nice and the ap seemed really well made

Got it yesterday and it's been really enjoyable, love how they added gambling too.. what a banga! XD

For anyone still having issues with being region locked ( a lot of people in CST are for some reason still), change the REGION on your iphone/ipad DEVICE in SETTINGS to UK , open the app, link your nintendo account, and then exit, change the region back to whatever, and then you should be good

After playing it for a while, I am surprised how many logical changes have been implemented to the game's formula. There's a lot of parallel thinking going on here between what I thought would be good for the game, and what was actually implemented.
However, the design of some cards absolutely ruins the experience. The designers seem hell-bent of implementing aggressive coinflips, making most games completely random and not in control of either player at all.

I honestly think the battle dynamics have to improve to make this worthwhile, bc as it stands it's just way too linear and tool cards are not really relevant at all. Way too much coin flipping and repetitive matches. Pull rates also seem extremely bad. So far it seems addictive in all the manipulative bad ways, and not because any one mechanic is super strong or appealing.

Was anyone able to get the Chansey promo that just released? I had two tries at it but was only able to get the Meowth promo and then a wonder pick token.

Played it now since that release and... Meh!

My personal oppinion is that the game is wildly unbalanced!
You got games you just lose T1 - Starting feels really bad, like awefully bad.
In the normal game you can do something at least, but in this game you got like only 2-3 supporters that do something T1 and else you don't gain any tempo really since you can't attach any energies.
Trainers the only one you'd play T1 might be Red Card or PokéBall but Red Card is only a card really for T1 if at all, because if your opponent placed Pokémon most of the times he has anyways below 3 cards.
(The supporters I mean are Oak, Misty and Brock, while Brock is not something viable tbh)
If you start with something basic and your opponent got a Mewtwo EX - GG and done.
You can't really keep up with that.

The other issue is how slow you're gaining cards and you need multiples to play a certain deck, which makes most Stages 2 at the current time hardly playable because you can't get to them.
Not to mention that the investment isn't worth it if you can just slap down a Stage 1 or even Basic EX and just do the same stuff for less.

So yeah... They need to change something fundamental at this stage already for my liking.

The game is not terrible but it is woefully undercooked in its current state.

Besides the gameplay being TCG GB for babies, the app offers one day of content and then after you beat all the AI decks there's nothing to do. Unless you want to complete the set, and then you realize how scummy the currency model is.

A little surprised DeNa made this since their now-dead Final Fantasy Record Keeper game offered far more on launch. Record Keeper had many more paths to branch out and built multiple extended solo modes, but I can't see what Pocket could realistically offer besides adding more expansions every few months.
