Even though the original Pokedex 3D is free and the Pro one isn't? That kinda sucks...The original Pokedex 3D, which was released in North America on June 6th last year, will be removed from the 3DS eShop on October 1st.
Unova Dex vs National Dex, plus the Pro version has all Pokemon automatically in it from the start. Oh, and there are some fun quizzes in it too! What's the difference between the Pro and the regular version?
To be perfectly honest with you I was pretty skeptical about the $15 price tag also. However, a friend of mine at league with his Japanese 3DS showed me his, and I can say it is a rather handy resource.daoneandonly said:15 bucks is quite a lot for just an "app" on your 3DS. Not sure If I'm going to buy it, the original was decent for a free price but It had, besides the 3D moving Pokés, not much to offer. Just don't see the point of it as long you can't run it at the same time of your Pokémon game.
Well, since I do have a smartphone that's always in my pocket (note that my 3DS is not) and I can't figure out any situation where I'd get out my 3DS instead of my phone. That said, I happen to have the BW Prima guides. Two nonetheless, which one of them is a full Pokédex the other being the walkthrough. I can say that I'm well informed whenever I need to be about the Pokémon stuff.Deus: Nightmare Autarch said:To be perfectly honest with you I was pretty skeptical about the $15 price tag also. In my case, I do not always have immediate access to a computer/the Internet, and it helps to have a mobile Pokemon resource around with me. (I do have a rather interesting collection of strategy guides that I use for this purpose, but I don't have one for any Gen 5 stuff.) At least for me it'd be worth it, since when I play DS and making moveset ideas I am usually not around a computer.
It does have a lot of goodies, such as lightning quizzes, the entire Pokedex (up to Meloetta and including alternate forms) available immediately, voices pronouncing the Pokemon's names (in all 6 languages that it comes in, no less), and the 3D models. The 3D models are one of my favorite parts, especially when I need to know how to draw a Pokemon and get everything proportionally accurate.
So, if you think it's worth it after me mentioning everything I just said, go for it. If not, then don't. It's no big loss either way.
The main reason I didn't get the guides is because they look like phonebooks now. I'd much rather have a source that's easy to carry around, and 3D Pro could be exactly that for me...plus it's got other goodies. Basically, it'd be like buying an inexpensive strategy guide that gives you stuff to do.That said, I happen to have the BW Prima guides. Yeah that's true. But there's a lot more in there than just a Pokédex. Not sure which would win content-wise, but the fact that the 3DS app is updatable makes it better just by that.Deus: Nightmare Autarch said:Based on what I've seen of it, I would consider it an app, not a full-on game.

Most likely.Chariblaze said:Ooh, really? So a Meloetta reveal within 3 months, probably? Neat.
