(1) 12 New English ‘XY’ Cards Revealed! [12/15]

Ugh, Malamar there looks hideous. Both of them. The rest look good, though, which is nice, except for maybe Slurpuff.

Shauna is...derpy, though that's the official Sugimori, so...Shauna is derpy.

Great cards! I'm liking that fairy support but yikes Dark types just won't die! Shauna seems like an interesting card. I think it's probably going to be an important card in my decks. This way I don't need to worry that much about my timing on N's.

Wow some of these cards were just leaked in Japan today. Are we getting the set the same time as they are?

Great cards! I really like their design (with exception for Slurpuff; I don't really know what to think about that Pokémon… I mean: I don't like that Pokémon, so even if it has the greatest illustration, I'd be not satisfied... it's actually really weird).
But back to the topic: Cool illustration for both versions of Malamar – even if it'd maybe won't be the top and best card/tier, I really like it.
I like Shauna, too… now hoping for more Character-cards. I'd be really greatful for Bonnie! :d Even if she would be “paired” with Clemont. The card shoul be called like “Relationship help” and should have some stronger effect with certain condition. E.g. something like “Twins”.
OK, I'm really glad for those cards and can't wait til I have some of them.

Shauna is good, Wigglytuff is good, both the stadiums are fantastic, and the EXes and Malamar are terrible. Meh.

Wigglytuff, though, has serious potential to give Fairy.dec a late game.

Love how many options they're giving the fairy type. Could make an extremely fun deck, and potentially viable without overpowered EX's!

LOVE the art for Greninja EX. The water splash accents make the card for me, as well as his floating shuriken. Such cool. So ninja. Much amaze. Wow.

I like 3D art, but whens a brotha gonna get Nooki Saito working on some of the new cards, in fact Nooki Saito should be doing a whole dang set, I'd buy multiple boxes,

in fact, since pokemon was so cool with the 3D last gen for the EXs, lets just make a standard so all XY EXs after base set are hand drawn real epic like. like the the shiny collections except less Sugimori + flowers, more stylized kickbutt action

As for the cards, they look just as great as before, except in English, so they got that going for them.

Well it looks like Darkrai Is getting even better now that you can remove weakness easily plus the addition of a dark type Mewtwo EX I could see it making a comeback, yet again.

Wigglytuff seems like it would be interesting for an all-in last chance attack in whatever Fairy decks get brewed up. I really want to see the theme deck lists soon, I'm wondering if I should preorder some of these cards before they get overhyped, or if they're all just going to end up being in the decks.

Am I the only one who saw the Krookodile and immediately thought of Potter Puppet Pals? (bother bother bother bother)

For real though, I'm very excited for Aromatisse. I don't think the Dark Stadium helps Darkrai very much tbh. If they have it in play, it means they don't have Virbank, which I am COMPLETELY OK with.

Shadow Circle is worth the place of Virbank when playing some sort of Yveltal EX deck. Because a TDK matchup with a Thundurus EX and a couple Deoxys EX benched is a pretty scary situation. Then again a single counter stadium would work against that but hey, still a valid option.

And don't forget Rainbow is comming into play and prisms and blends are still a thing. Suddenly you've got a lot of Pokés that don't have to worry about type disadvantage anymore.

As you can imagine I am quite the fan of Shadow Circle. But from the looks of it, it seems like I have to get few fairy energies.
As for Shauna, it'll probably be 2-of in most decks. Don't think it'll completely change the supporter line up as it is. But I can see it getting a decent spot when N gets rotated.

That isn't going to be for a long time, given that N's latest printing is a BW promo at BW100. Oh yes, my friends. N will be around for a long time. Shauna will probably never, or very rarely, see any play.

Shadow Circle I can't see working in Darkrai since Virbank is always appreciated, though for other decks I could see it, as well as variants that utilize Yveltal or Yveltal EX - though due to Death Wing being a very good early-game attack, I can definitely see it. Still, you would only need Shadow Circle against the Landorus matchup or the Plasma matchup, the latter of which is actually rather favorable for Darkrai.

Fairy Garden is a thing, though, since it has a lot of support going for it already (Geo Control Xerneas, Aromatisse, and possibly Slurpuff). It actually reminds me of Darkrai/Hydreigon, which - although slow now - had more mobility than most decks in the format at the time. Aromatisse only has 90 HP, but Catcher is not really a thing much anymore, so...

I don't think so, since the problem with N comes when you have around 1-3 cards, the difference between N and Shauna is 1 card (if you have all prize cards) if not, it would be better to use Shauna and that's even better if the opponent has bad cards in his hand or just 1 cards and it's unusable, in the other hand the good thing of N is that if your opponent has a good hand you can change it and he/she can get a bad hand.

Maybe Shauna will replace Professor Juniper or Sycamore .

I can't see it straight up replacing Juniper/Sycamore, discarding is important in some decks, or at least can be easily worked around, and the two extra cards can sometimes make up the difference in discarding your hand. In evolution-heavy decks I could see playing more Shauna than Juniper, but not rightout replacing it.

I know a guy who runs Blastoise/Keldeo and has zero Juniper in his build. I think he'll welcome the chance to use Shauna, though he runs a heavy N/Colress/Ghetsis supporter lineup.

I also run it. My way of the deck.
I have 3 Junipers, but Ghetsis? I don't really need it, yes, Colress fits it, and I'm going to replace 2 Cilans and 2 Junipers with Shauna.
