I also think they did a bad Pokémon distribution. Lots of Pokémon that already have more than 1 card in the BW era. Why another Lapras? Another Musharna line? Another Aggron line? The Druddigon I already mentioned...
There are a lot of Pokémon that still didn't appear in BW.
That's why I really hope this is not the last BW set. It would be stupid leaving the other Pokémon without cards in BW. This set has no Armaldo, no Froslass... Another notable Pokémon waiting for a card are the Swampert line, Tyranitar, the other Fossil Pokémon, Rhyperior (and Golem for that matter), Pidgeot, etc.... Plus the missing EX legendaries: Arceus, Suicune*, Regirock, Regice, Manaphy* and the Lake trio*. I hope there's indeed another, final set, that brings the rest of the Pokémon to the BW TCG era.

*I hope that the Manaphy card in Plasma Storm, the Suicune in this Kyurem/Blastoise deck and the pixies in this set are not excuses for not making EX cards for them, specially Suicune (I'm looking at you, DEX Tornadus-I EX)...

Yeah, I too think the distribution is terrible. It was decent in BW8 so seeing this was kinda disappointing.

And don't forget Gengar. Gengar hasn't shown up yet either.

I'm sure we're going to have a BW10. For one, there's plenty of time until XY comes out for one more set. For two, why would they end the block at the number nine? Wynaut ten? Ten sounds so much better than nine. It's like they accomplished something.

That means we'd be getting BW10 in English... in November, after XY had already come out. >_> That simultaneous worldwide release is really going to screw things up for the English TCG. They're either going to be WAY behind, have to drop a set, or do some crazy huge rush job like Aquapolis and Skyridge.

I got to add on to water pokemon master why would you end this series without giving all the legandary pokemon exs. They still have regirock/steel/ice and arceus to do

I'd like to know how they will handle XY1 in general given when the games come out and the typical set release dates(unless this changes).

But BW10 or no BW10, you're right when you say it will screw things up.

About the some cards, starting with EX's:
Virizion EX: Paired with Genesect, I assume? I assuming getting a turn 1 Emerald Slash is semi-impossibru? Nice ability though, renders HTLazors useless.

Genesect EX: Hyped by some of the people I know, although I don't think hitting 20 to the bench helps much. Etherdex won't be around, though as I said above, I assume it gets paired with Virizion EX.

Jirachi EX: 90HP? Really?? Not going to live long, I assume it was supposed to be used in Cobalion EX/Klinklang to get Supporters out, but even Bouffalant beats it even when Eviolited! Two prizes, or even three from Lugia.

Dialga EX: I guess it's the EX used in discarding decks. Not that great though. No more.

Palkia EX: At first I looked and I thought, "Wow! How most definitely useless!" However, after thinking about it, it may be good against Pokemon which hit 90-100 (Yes you, Darkrai and Genesect ). If they hit you once, then you hit them, they're 10-20 damage off, assuming you only have one Plasma Energy on Palkia. Two counters to this: Dark Claw and HTLazor respectively. Two counters to that: More Plasma energies and Virizion EX. However, overall, 80 SUCKS and most of the time Palkia will be hitting too less, getting cleaved by Keldeo EX, blasted by Black Kyurem EX, and obliterated by Rayquaza EX (actually not, 'cause Eelektrik won't be around). Against other decks though, it might stay around. Don't know what to pair it with though, problem there.

Other mentions:
Iris is quite good I guess, I expect to hear about it, I'm thinking Caitlin to be kinda like PONT but some I know don't exactly agree, especially if you don't have many cards in hand, Haxorus OHKO Team Plasma Pokemon?! Kinda awkward against other non Plasma Pokemon though, Quadruple Eviolited Sigilyph for -80 damage, anyone? (when I first read it, I thought it was for ALL Pokemon, so I was like WOAH), don't know how G weapons will go, Silver Bangle and Mirror sound pretty good, Reversal trigger just punched Manaphy in the face, Cradily sounds REALLY good, thought probably just me, Azelf, Uxie and Mesprit don't sound that great since they're all weak links on a weak chain, (though wasting a turn breaking that chain might change a game, if you can get them out on time).

Thanks for reading.

XY coming out in October and XY1 coming out in November wouldn't be too bad or unusual compared to what they've done with recent games. HGSS was out in February 2010 and the game itself came a month later. BW came out in March 2011 and they released BW1 in April.

Now, if they release XY in October 2013 and are still focusing on BW-related sets in November, leaving XY1 until February 2014... that would be strange.

Well, we don't know when Japan will get XY1. Unless they plan to do the same with XY1 as with the games themselves, it's possible we may have to wait until Feb. anyway. Unless they release it BEFORE the games which I doubt.

Given current release dates, they might not get it until November/December.

Hmm... Could they release a BW10 with Regirock EX, Regice EX, Arceus EX, and The Lake Trio EX? That's the normal 6 EXs right there. They should also do Shiny Samourott, Shiny Cobalion, and Shiny Cradily. They could make that set a Call of Legends style set. Then again, with X and Y looming, this set might not work unless they hold back XY1. It's intresting to think what TPCI will do here, especially because they are sometimes unpredictable.

EDIT: Frogot to post this part.

Setwise, this looks really cool. The shines are neat, most of the EX's are playable, good cards like Cradily and Haxorus in the set. However Haxorus does seem overpowered, being able to OHKO a team plasma pokemon seems slightly broken. Maybe they should have done the attack for 3 or 4 energy instead.

As it stands right now, we have our (English) August set already revealed to us. Now, in order for TPCi to get the XY-1 set released around the same time as the games are internationally, they would HAVE to skip 1-2 Japanese sets, and release XY 1 there in October and here in November. This is if they want to maximally piggyback promoting the new TCG set with the new games, and not have any significant time lapse between the new games and new block beginning in the TCG. I personally think this would be great, as it could mean that we would have closer releases to Japan TCG wise, and possibly even bringing the sets directly over card for card.

Just you watch.

Our next English set in August is going to be BW9 and BW10 rolled into one giant set.

I can see that happening, but we are talking about a 250+ card set here

I would find that awesome, especially considering the people who actually play competitively buy the cards anyway, meaning if you are just buying packs for fun, there would be a butt load of variety,

collectors, why so serious?>

yay for a somewhat more balanced set :)

mega set would be awesome indeed, both due to lots of new awesome cards as well as being up to date with the Japs

Being Serious is what we do.

If there will be a BW10, they might separate from the pattern like they did with BW5 and BW6(I'm pretty sure BW6 was supposed to relate to B2/W2 though but still) thus resulting in 2 single sets in a row(BW10 could feature Arceus then).

If that's the case, then combining BW9+BW10 for our August set wouldn't be so bad.

EDIT: Another mini-set could also be released instead.

Wow...Rock Guard is really interesting. Doing 60 just for them attacking you isn't bad by any means.

Also, the art on the FA's look amazing. The Ghetsis FA looks nice but not as good as the others.
