Who should I go with, Tyrannitar or Gyrados? I heard everyone is talking about Tyrannitar and Gyrados looks like a good powerhouse.

.. Dusknoir's the rarest to get out of all the LvX's! (At least it seemed that way at my local. We had 2 of every LvX except Dusknoir).I'd say the Char line are just as rare as LvX's though. Nothing too special!

Grind!!! 20X the amount of energy on Tyran... Total overkill if you can pull it off. Every single turn.
Gyrados is good and can be disruptive. It's also faster at setting up than Tyran because it's only a stage one. But if you KO their Gyarados with a few Grind attacks (XD), all they'll have are measly pokemon that can't stand upto a well powered grind

Sadly, the person sitting next to me pulled: Raichu LV.X, Charmeleon, Charizard, and a shiny Duskull. Also, he had a good deck.

And no, as far as I'm aware, this isn't/won't be/it hasn't been announced that there will ever be a Tyran or Gyarados LvX. I reckon there will be.. Eventually.. But not anytime too soon.

I want all the shinies just because. I learned at my LA prerelease that you get more Booster packs if you do the Theme Deck Challenge.

The PR I went to (and others before). You get the 6 boosters you pay for to play with, and then everyone gets 2 boosters as prize support. Last PR the winners got extra.. But not this time round.. Which made me sad XD.. J/k... that's greedy!!
But how do you get more boosters from a Theme deck challenge?
You get the 60-card deck, you get 4 booster packs, then at the end you get 2 booster packs yay! so you get 120 cards.
At PR's, you go in, register about an hour or so before and pay your money. Then when the timing to start is called, you find a spot and sit down! Haha.
You'll be given 6 Booster packs. Then you have 30 minutes to open them, organise your cards and make a 40 card deck from them! Energy cards are usually supplied. You cannot use darkness or metal energy. They're forbidden in PR.
Try and use as many/if not all the trainers you got, and stick to 1-2 energy lines mostly.. Add a couple energy in for teched pokemon if needs be. (E.g. I had 4 psychic and 4 grass energy for my Cherrim and Drifblim today).
Once the time is up, you'll be put into pairings and give 5 minutes to set up with the usual TCG set up, but with only 4 prizes.
Then you begin!
Your TO might play 1 game each round or best of 3. But you'll have about 35 minutes to play.
Depending how many people there depends whether you play 3-5 matches. The top 2 or 4 usually go into top cut and battle for the 1st place!
Everyone who participates gets at least 2 more boosters.
You will also recieve a pre-release card (Piloswine) and 60-deck sleeves (Shiny dark red Dusknoir. They're really nice!).
As long as you have your POP ID, you should be okay if you explain to them that you signed up on the POP website but don't have the card for it. I'm sure they'll know what to do. If not. You'll probably just get a new POP ID and have your accounts merged.

i wish i knew someone around here who goes to them. i don't want to show up and stand there with a blank face because i have never been to PR before. or any card-relelated event.

i wonder if Alakazam will get a LV X it didnt get an EX form, so you never know. and as far as the DP pokemon which is the primary focus of most LV X's i hope Ramprados will get a lv x. that thing will dominate all!

I love this set. There are so many good cards, I'm not sure what decks I want to make out of it. Annoyingly, I can't get to any Pre-releases, so I'm going to have to make sure I buy a box or 2.
I know it's old news or whatever, but I don't mind the reverse holo for the shiny Pokémon. I would've preferred the holo that the Japanese set got for them, but I'm just glad that they aren't normal holo. Now that would've been a disappointment. The reprint of the Charizard line, well, I'm not sure what to think. It would be a great collectors item, but other than to please every Charizard fan out there, I could see some people being a little under whelmed when they pull a Charmander or Charmeleon (I don't think anyone would hate getting a Charizard). I would've preferred if they were box toppers to be completely honest, since we haven't had any in ages, but, oh well.
I only have 2 problem with the set really, though they are very minor. First of all, why do we have 2 holo Magnezones in this set, while despite Dusknoir and Magnezone essentially being equal in the Japanese set, we only have 1 holo Dusknoir annd 1 non-holo? It's probably something to do with Dusknoir having a Lv.X version, but there is still a lack of sense there. The other thing is the reprints of trainers that have actually already appeared in a DP series set before (I'm on about Premier Ball, Potion and Switch or whatever else there is, and not Great Ball, which is a worth while reprint). I wouldn't mind getting more Premier Balls, but I think most people have enough Potions and Switches (or whatever) to make a deck out of just them. Something, anything else would've done, even just new artwork, but no, we get the same again and again. Still, at least we get Warp and Cyclone energies reprinted, which is nice.
