(1) 'Black' and 'White' Feature 3DS Enhancements [2/11]

I wonder what the enhanced functionality is, is this the first time we heard of old games being able to be played on the 3DS or not, either way, it's kind of nice.
 
As hopeful as I am that this is indeed true, I think they're talking about the Xtransciever (Live Caster). They just didn't word it well.

I always hoped that Black and White would feature at least a "widescreen" mode when played on the 3DS, seeing as the games are launching so close to the system. I'm worried that normal DS games, such as Pokemon, will look distorted after being stretched out to fit the new screen resolution of the 3DS.
 
Erm...the quote specifically says it isn't 3D visuals WPM xD

I'm guessing they're just taking the C-Gear feature "Pass By" (Which is pretty much StreetPass on a non-3DS system) and intergrating it with StreetPass.

@Playerking95 , we've known for ages that DS games can be played on a 3DS. Why would they randomly exclude some of the best selling titles?
 
People on Bulbagarden are saying that it's not 3D imagery. But the quote isn't specific enough to support either side. Knowing Nintendo and its track record of having good ideas in front of them and not doing anything about it, I'm not getting my hopes up. It will probably just be the street pass thing or compatibility with the universal friend codes? Who knows at this point.

Best things the 3DS could do with BW:
  • 3D imagery (at least for the battle scenes)
  • Ability to load custom battle/musical songs from the SD card
  • Pokéwalker system using the 3DS' pedometer
  • Widescreen display for top screen

Just to name a few that just came to mind. Anyone else got any cool ideas that won't become reality?
 
It would be very nice i think if it can play Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advanced game cartridges :)
 
IMO I think its something with the 3D imagery and the upper Widescreen. Because 3DS will be the todays console when the, maybe, 3rd version or any remakes will release, which may stick to the DS BW graphics, BUT have the 3D features! Which makes it fair. BW is a DS title, with 3D features. The new games will be 3DS titles, but will have the BW graphics with the 3D features! Fair, fair, fair xD
 
This is quite an interesting twist. I wonder if it's just with the wireless communcations that the 3DS has. I'm wondering if it could just be the new friend system. I mean hackers would of spoted code for the 3ds graphic changes in the roms..
 
It kinda reminds me of when The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons came out... There was the Advanced Shop that you could only access on a GBA.
 
They could have something cool going on with being able to take 3D Pictures with the cameras I guess.

Nevertheless, whatever the cool enhancement is, I guess it's pretty much decided I have to get a 3DS now. :p
