Lol @emphasizing on absolutely NO characters from previous generations returning, and then they bring back Cynthia. That's not contradictory, at all ;D
 
I'm currently working on my critique of all the pokemon based on their stats, but anyway about Gear. I think they're playing on making a more complex machine by starting with something basic, and adding stuff on.
 
I honestly find all this new information and all the pokemon revealed mind-boggling, especially since how all this info was released today, September 16th, 2010 (two days before the actual release) and even more funny is today is my BIRTHDAY! way to go spoilers, you turned this mediocre day into something special.

Though I do have to say that I was disappointed in the dark/dragon pseudo-legendary pokemon.
 
@Mew: Yeah, I totally see what you mean. I really do think I'm the only one who actually enjoys its design, it's just so clockwork and machanical and I swear, if it's shiny form is brown, I will hunt down a shiny Gear endlessly. >w<
 
WOW! After reading all these comments, I think I'm the only one that actually likes the Dark/Dragon family line!
 
@Gothlolibat, I absolutey LOVE the Gear line's designs unquestioningly. I love clockwork/antique machine stuff too! And I'm glad they are pure steel type as well!

From where I'm looking at, the Normal/Psychic pokemon Meroetta is kinda represent music, look at her hair, it has notes on it. I'm willing to bet that the alternate form represent dance, since pokexperto forum named it step form.
 
Ugh, yeah. I hated Chillarmy to begin with, but the pathetic excuse of an evolution actually makes it worse then a single stage normal...

As far as the dark/dragon. I love it's type, finally a psuedo-legendary dragon without a 4x ice weakness. However, I hate the "emo hair" on the first 2 forms. The third form is decent though.

First as a side note, the quote button is messed up.

Anyway, the difference between all those and Gear is noticeable. Electrode doesn't count, Dugtrio's expression changes, Dodrio is infinitely cooler than Doduo and again doesn't count and of course neither does the horrid Magnezone. The only one would be Magneton which has no difference to Magnemite.

Gear is lame because it's evolutions faces are basically Gear's face...I mean what the hell? They seriously couldn't make another face?

The crocosaur is the best thing this gen hands down. The shittadpole redeemed itself with the better than Poliwrath though worse than Toxicroak stage 2 design. Ice cream remains idiotic and garbage bag doesn't come close to Swalot much less Muk.

Legendaries look awful. Genies don't change almost at all, the horses are weird and when saying the blue pony is the best, well, that's saying how bad they are. I guess the purple Deoxys, weird girl and ice chicken are okay. Zekrom remains the only great legendary.

Other good things:
-Hydra looks awesome, too bad it's sprite is all squished
-Liking those leopards(?) -Kojondo- at the end much better than Choroneko's evo.
-Shibirudon is epic after a pre-evo looking like scrambled eggs or a melted snowman.
-Love the jellyfish, a female Tentacruel of sorts
-Both fossils are great though from the earlier sprite Aken looked much better (and more feminine)
-Love the cactus, ground-crab, Egyptian mask, Hahakomori, Kokoromori, zebra evo

Other bad things:
-The evo of the terrier is ridiculous.
-The final pigeon is disappointingly gaunt and nonthreatening.
-Graveler rip-off looks bad.
-Machoke rip-off looks bad.
-Centipede3 is disappointing too, looks like something from James and the Giant Peach, which, needless to say, I didn't like for it's creepy designs.
-Dark/fighting is plain person.
-Gochiruzeru/Rankurusu's pre-evos look terrible, Rankurusu's especially look as though it's just one fluid animation. Should both have been standalones.
-Hitmon-ripoffs look idiotic (red&blue crystal judo fighters)
-Polar bear is just weird. At least even non-Pokemon like the garbage bag have some sort of believable anatomy (???a garbage anatomy, I know) but look at it it's so disproportionate. It's something out of a crappy Disney Channel series.
-The manta ray also is disappointing since it looks like a flattened owl

When you try to hate this game remember one thing:Diamond and Pearl.

I love those dragons, my fave is the last stage, I just think the base and 1st stage are funny b/c they look like emo-dragons XD
 
New notice, the last pokemon on the list, there seem to be misconception that the gun is on its head. I just notice that the gun is actually its hand, like Magmortar.
