(1) 'Black' and 'White's' Legendary Mascots: Zekrom, Reshiram [5/28]

A time horse? A phallic dinosaur? Maybe for Japanese schoolchildren, but from an aesthetic point of view, these designs are horrible. Groudon and Kyogre might have been met with criticism at first, but they were never hodge-podge Pokémon, and people would come to realize this.

Do these new Pokémon look like Digimon? They certainly have added more and more details with each generation, which has been a staple element in the Digimon franchise since its very beginning. You can't blame people for drawing similarities since it IS a valid point.

Whoa, I don't think I ever been so surprised in my life xD These are just breath taking and I know everyone is entitled to their opinions, but everyone who says these suck should just leave, because these are <expletive> awesome.

Zekrom looks so bad in the sense that it looks good xD Move aside giratina-o, Zekrom is my new favorite legend.

Reshiram looks angelic and slick. It reminds me of Falcor, lol.

As for types, I think they're going to be both pure types. Zekrom is dark (duh) and really Reshiram just doesn't look like a normal, psychic, etc. type. It's either pure flying or (I can't believe I'm saying this) our first light type.
 
I don't know which one I like better. I guess Reshiram because I like its face more. It looks more like an animal while Zekrom looks more like a robot or rock monster to me. I still can't decide which version I want. I like the color black better than white, but I always get whichever version my boyfriend doesn't since we both play alongside each other and help complete the other's Pokédex (yes, we're nerds, but we like it that way).

So far I like all the Pokémon revealed for this generation. I hope the rest are as nice. I've already decided I'm pre-ordering an import as soon as we're able to.

Edit: I just thought of something. Are these the same Pokémon June's CoroCoro is going to reveal? I hope not. I want to see something else new. Also these two Legendaries make me even more excited to see what the starters evolutions might look like. Hopefully something that kicks butt like these two Pokémon do.
 
personally i think according to the description of isshu region as highly industrialised...and the RAM and ROM in the names of the mascot u will never know wether the legends this tym are artificial and then gained a mind of thier own....
 
I just noticed, Reshiram isn't totally white and Zekrom isn't totally black. Reshiram has some light pink coloring and Zekrom has some blue on it.
 
jeeze, no complaints here. I think these are the best looking legendary Pokemon since Ho-oh and Lugia.

People have said this about many new Pokémon when they were first revealed, I remember hearing it when 3rd and 4th gen Pokemon were revealed... People said the same thing about Lucario. Right now these Pokémon just look fresh to our eyes. They will grow on us. :3
 
For some reason, when I read their names, my mind sometimes puts "on" on the end:
Reshiramon
Zekromon

Maybe it's because I have Digimon on the brain.:p

Anyways, I can't wait for more info on them! I'm having a really hard time choosing the version.
 
That white one is just... really terrible. Why does it have Suicune's head? What is up with all that exaggerated detail on the tail that looks like a torch? And why oh why does the fur poke out like that in its crotch area?

The black one on the other hand looks pretty cool. I'll be picking up the White version for sure.

I still think that applies to most of the Gen3 and 4 Pokémon, especially the legends...
But if "growing on us" means trying to forget or ignore their existence like I did with the last legends, sure :D

Although, if that Airoplane engine on Zokram's back means he'll transform into a plane, I'll admit that they look more like Gundams :)
 
Well, every generation has a different feel and style. Because of the unfamiliarity each time, everyone just says "THESE AREN'T POKEMON OMG THERE [sic] DIGIMON"...when there is no criteria for what is or isn't a Pokemon. Gamefreak make new Pokemon, therefore they are Pokemon. Just because they look different to previous generations (and why wouldn't they?) doesn't mean they've "ran out of ideas". Mk?! :p

If I was to choose one version based on its cover legendary I'm now torn. I was originally thinking of White version, as I figured most kids would be thinking "black = evil = badass!! Yeah!!" and I always prefer "light/good/holy/whatever". But now they've mixed it up, and I like both of these legendaries equally I'm not so sure. I may stick with White, but I think I'll have to wait for more information on version differences / exclusives / the legendaries themselves before deciding.

For Reshiram's typing I say Dragon/Ghost (it looks ethereal whereas Zekrom looks solid), Dragon/Flying, or Dragon/Psychic.
For Zekrom's typing I say Dragon/Dark (most likely?), Dragon/Steel, or Dragon/Rock. If they even have secondary types, of course =)

I'll be getting Pokemon White for sure. Zekrom just PWNs. New favorite Pokemon? I truly hope we get good starter evolutions as well. I can't believe Pokemon.com's already hyping this! ZE KIDZ R GONNA GO CRAZEEEE!
 
I'm surprised that Pokemon.com has revealed Pokemon Black & White. I thought it might take another 3 months for Pokemon.com to reveal anything about Pokemon Black & White. Though I'm really excited about the games and legendaries. :)

I'm going to also be drawing the legendaries today. Its gonna take a while. :|
