That Conkeldurr is just... Lol. Mewtwo Ex will stop it, but still :S, Tech in a mewtwo, and you have a massive tank that is next to nothing unstoppable.
 
Conkeldurr... meh. Yeah, the amount of HP it gets is cool and all, and the attack's effect is cool, but only 80 damage? Conkeldurr is really gonna have problems against speed decks, the damage isn't stellar (unless you tech in something that helps Conkeldurr tank, Reshiram laughs at Conkeldurr), and it being a Stage-2 with that kind of a cost isn't good.

I suspect the EX cards, while only rares, will be more akin to, say, the Arceus cards from DPt4 in Japan. I pulled about 10-12 of those between two boxes. So they're likely going to be "rare" but really akin to rare+ of sorts.

Everyone's going to be teching Mewtwo EX into their decks when it comes out; therefore, Conkeldurr will see little or no play at all. It's not even an issue anymore.

...that's my take.
 
I have to agree with DNA, a tech of 2 Mewtwo EX and some DCE and enemy Mewtwo and Conkeldurr shouldn't be much of a problem. Think about it: 3-4 energy on a stage 2 just so you can be OHKOed by a basic with a DCE. In addition, you 3HKO said basic back (like you'll be able to set up 3 Conkeldurr very often). It's an amazing Ability and would be game-breaking if Mewtwo EX weren't such a perfect counter.
 
Conkeldurr is very amusing and should be fun to run in a League deck but, it seems like Mewtwo EX is going to be everywhere, thus limiting its playability.
 
So... many... energy... to... attack! Why?!

Anyway, fighting types really need some energy acceleration. I know it is an old Trainer/item card, and a flip of a coin but Energy Pick-up was the only thing types with no Energy acceleration have to look forward to. Fire has Typlosion and Emboar, Water has Ferlagotr, let's give these other types some hope!

Also, with Victini you will be discarding a few cards every turn!
 
At first I was thinking that Conkeldurr was COMPLETLY BROKEN. I mean really, 140 HP, which gets more added on for each Energy, and an attack that discards your opponent's deck. That thing is unstoppable.

But then I remembered Mewtwo EX. It's an epic Basic, lots of people will probably run it with the threat of Conkeldurr, so yeah, nothing that good.
 
If people think Mewtwo EX will hurt Conkeldurr so bad, why don't they run 1 or 2 Mewtwo EX of their own, I mean, I do think Conkledurr VS Mewtwo EX would be unfavorable, but still winable.
 
I really like Conkeldurr. I really do. DARN YOU MEWTWO

I just want to play with my Fighting types in peace, but there's always Psychic types in the way. Espeon, Gardevoir, Uxie, etc.

I feel bad for lucario and conkeldurr becuase its their thread and mewtwo ex is still what people are talking about. I'm excited either way! Will these be coming out in america in tue set directly after noble victories?

I agree. 4 DCE, use Mewtwo with it. If not, a Zoroark or a Dark could help because of Resistance.:p

If Conkeldurr is ever run, Zoroark/Mewtwo EX will practically be neccesary due to the threat of Mewtwo EX itself.

I really wanna see what other players can come up with for Conkeldurr
 
Conkeldurr could be such a ridiculous tank deck.

Someone will come up with at least a semi-decent Mewtwo counter soon, and once we have that Conkeldurr is great. Even if it fails to hit meta, it could be a serious rogue.

kawayoos Artwork is amazing, as always.

Are Conkeldurr and Lucario now classified as Rare or Uncommon? I can't discover it on the scans.
 
I think they're both Rare. It's sort of hard to see on the scans since the letter is small, but I'm fairly positive they both say "R".
