Is EX a mechanic used for Owner's Pokemon? No, it's not; therefore it's not relevant to the argument.
Well...we don't have a scan of Lugia EX yet. Perhaps IT'S a Plasma Pokemon?

It probably is; I wouldn't doubt it. What does that have to do with anything, though?

Gym series had Gym Leader's Pokemon.
Rocket sets had Rocket's Pokemon, plus a few Dark Pokemon thrown into the mix.
Holon sets had Holon's Pokemon, which although not quite the same thing was still quite thematic.
Platinum sets had Pokemon SP.
Plasma sets now have this new Plasma mechanic going on.

Notice a trend? The mechanic that's used is always new. The old ones are never brought back.
If any of you think the SPs will ever come back, you are wrong.

Sps had GL pokemon, therefore your argument is invalid

No it isn't. They're still owner's Pokemon, but it's just affixed to the end of the name instead of the beginning.
Go home.

Lugia is likely owned by Team Plasma, and IT'S an EX...that's what I'm getting at.

You guys forgot one owners mechanic: Aqua Magma... which in effect was the same as the original gym leaders pokemon.

Ah yeah, forgot that one. I didn't play during Hoenn-block so it didn't come to mind. Thanks for the reminder.

My point being that the owner's mechanic isn't determinant on whether or not it's an EX. Heck, Rocket's had tons of EXs but had tons of normal ones too.

That will really help metal pokemon. Maybe this set is featuring metal types. Skarmory is also a metal type. Klinklang and EXs with this Klinklang.

Its not bad. Paired with Registeel EX and Klingklang BW, this could be a really good deck. Nothing could take down Registeel EX in one hit other than Reshiram, which nobody plays, and Charizard, which nobody will play. This is really cool. :D Not to mention that Registeel becomes tank with its second attack and Terrakion only hits for 70. Problem is Garchomp Altaria annoys it. We will just have to see.

Klinklang is the first card that I've noticed is by 5Ban Graphics and doesn't look completely CG. :D It does seem as though more steel types are coming into play (other than klinklang).

Oh how long before Klingklang is in the american meta game? 3 months or less I hope?
this will really open things up allowing for much more variety I think (in a pretty varied environment already). Just because there will be many different things that will need to be teched or accounted for, Garbador, Accelgor, and now Klingklang. All different aspects of matchup problems, I like it!

Klingklang and Archeops anyone?

Edit: never mind I totally missed the part where it only protects steel type pokemon, hopefully can still make a great meta deck anyway.

It will be like 6 or 7 months, assuming this is our February set.

Klingklang/Archeops will be hard because you have to get out Klingklang before Archeops. Plus, Archeops isn't protected from Registeel so it'll most likely end up getting Catcherd.

Uh guys, about the blue borders, are we going to get green borders? Because you know, Blue + Yellow = Green?

although that would be hilarious (in a, I'm going to kill whoever decided to made the English borders green kinda way ;) )

klingklang looks viable, assuming we get more metal pokemon outside of registeel EX to work with...

Although I agree with your overall point, it's worth mentioning that Dark Pokémon were in a classic set and in an ex series set, so the mechanic was brought back.

Also, lol at the people saying Crobat/Scolipede...
