I see that Mewtwo has all of the hype at the moment. O_O
I don't blame them... Me included...
Well, more Gen I-IV Pokémon can only mean more Olden Generation EXes. I see that they snuck a Pikachu in, too. They stick Pikachus wherever they can fit them. It's getting a bit old now.
Lucario is the only notable card in this bundle, with Strike Back doing a reversed Exoskeleton. It'll be able to counter Zekrom very well if it can make it into play fast enough. A Pluspowered Lucario can just about OHKO a Zekrom, and also snipe reasonably to discomfort babies. Looks pretty nice to me.
 
That Lucario totally isn't a throwback to the DP Lucario...and Luxio does 40 damage to the bench and possibly good damage? makes me eager to see what else comes out.

Anyway going to Worlds tomorrow! Woot!
 
The cards look pretty cool. I hope we get these cads sometime next year as sometimes Japan gets cards we never get XD.:)
 
Lucario isn't anything special, everything else are uncommons/commons. I do like the Lucario artwork though.

cool. we might be seeing Vanillite in america soon in emerging powers but there's a pretty big chance not....

Haven't you read my last post? He can be a very nice Zekrom counter when he's set up right. If only Rare Candy worked as it used to.

The Japanese can't get enough of Pikachu, so they keep putting Pikachu into everything.

I hope there are Generations 4 and 5 Pokémon EX. I liked that era, and I'd love to see something like a Drifblim EX or, heh, a Stunfisk EX.
 
Well Pikachu is the mascot of the Pokemon franchise afterall.

Anyway, I got a bad feeling that combining Ex-Era cards with our Base Set-Era Metagame is going to lead to some very bad power creep.
 
Lucario would normally be a genuinely nice card. It's sorta like Lucario DP on steroids.
Only problem is that Donphan is the reigning fighting type, and with Donphan, this guy won't see any play. Even when Donphan gets out of the format, there will still probably be better fighting types.

I did read your post. And that doesn't change my opinion. Although it has more retreat, Donphan is a better counter (Switch comes into mind for the retreat). Unlike Lucario, Donphan can live through Zekrom's attack, and can KO Zekrom without suicide (PlusPower drop). Yanmega has an easier time swinging through Lucario, too. On top of that, Donphan is easier to setup, only needing one Energy, compared to Lucario's two Energy.
 
I agree Donphan is the better card. What are the chances hes going to be rotated out anyway?? 8(

Edit: I am totally down with another pikachu. It already has like 80 different cards right? Keep it going!
 
He's barely scraping in the set. He will have to be rotated September 2012 or earlier.
Valid points, Gliscor, but I don't think you need to say he's nothing special. Whilst not being the best, E's still worth a mention. The ability causing aftermath rather than defence is also an interesting idea which can help combat meta cards, if only slightly.

There is a 100% chance that he will be rotated out. The question is when will he be rotated out :3

EDIT: Ninja'd. Pokevortex, what I meant by "Nothing special" is that it isn't really good. It has a cool Body, but it's something we've already seen before.
 
Well derp :p obviously. Im more of a collector than player an i don't want all of my high trade value Meta cards to drop before I trade them :( what dictates that they have to rotate in september? Like I said, new to competition
