(1) First 14 'Plasma Blast' Card Images Revealed! [6/19]

So based on the numbering it looks like this set will have Plasma Energy again:

92 - G Booster (confirmed)
93 - G Scope
94 - Master Ball
95 - Plasma Energy
96 - Virizion EX (confirmed)

At least that's what I think...am I missing something that could go between Master Ball and Virizion EX?

Scoop Up Cyclone.

Oh yes cannot wait for this set! Genesect/Virizion is gonna be a great deck hopefully, even if it is not I am still gonna play it. I love the concept of nerfing lasers as well....no one knows my hatred of lasers....(plays lasers all the time)

We probably WILL have Plasma Energy again at #91 anyway. It's come before the Ace Specs in both Plasma Storm and Freeze.

STRIKE OF THE CHAMPION!!!

What a beastly attack name.
Anyway...
Well Froslass is my new favourite card! Love rogue decks <3
I too am excited for a small set. Yay easy collecting!
Also, I think it's time we write up a full list now we know the numbers, no? ;)

It seems this set is pretty much just Megalo Cannon + the Kyurem and Blastoise deck. I'm certain there are no cards from EX Battle Boost or from the Mewtwo vs Genesect deck. It also seems to have no cards from the Exciting Battles-something decks.

The list:
#1-11 - all the Grass cards from Megalo Cannon plus the non-Plasma Genesect promo that will be in the theme deck. After that, assuming that they correctly placed Froslass after Glalie, and that they included Blastoise even with it being a reprint, it goes like this:
#12-13 - Larvesta & Volcarona - only Fire-types in the set...
#14-22 - Squirtle line, Lapras, Remoraid line, Suicune, Snorunt and Glalie - even if this Blastoise is not in the set because it's a reprint and for some reason they decide to include the promo Magikarp instead, this is still true...
#23 - Froslass (confirmed)
#24-34 - Relicanth, Abomasnow line, Tirtouga line, Ducklett (from the Kyurem deck), Kyurem-EX, Tynamo line, and Drifloon
#35 - Drifblim (confirmed)
#36-59 - If they also include the Machamp promo (which I belive they will because it's a similar case to that of Froslass), then that card plus all the cards from Uxie to Aggron from Megalo Cannon fit in this space (they may include an old Aron promo instead but I think Machamp is more likely to be in the set).
#60 - Jirachi-EX (confirmed)
#61-66 - This is where it gets tricky... Escavalier is most likely #61; Dialga-EX and Palkia-EX are probably right before Axew, being numbers 65 and 66. So, there's three spots. Even if they include the Flygon promo and the Salamence promo, there's still one spot to fill and unless it's Durant from the EEB decks, I have no ideia what goes here... Unless they put exact reprints of Bagon and Shelgon from Dragon Vault because they were re-released as promos together with the Salamence in Japan... As lame and stupid as that sounds, knowing TPCi, it's possible...
#67-69 - Axew line (confirmed)
#70-73 - Druddigon, Kangaskhan, Porygon and Porygon2
#74 - Porygon-Z (confirmed)
#75-77 - Teddiursa line and Chatot. Pokémon cards stop here I believe. There are no non-reprint promos to include...
#78-90 - Trainers. Iris is confirmed as #81 but I can't predict exactly the specific order of the others... Caitlin, Root Fossil Lileep, Cover Fossil and Plume Fossil will keep the same name. I'm not sure about name changes on Silver Bangle, Silver Mirror and Reversal Trigger, the last one is more likely to have its name changed than the other two, if at all. Nonetheless, I guess they will reprint some trainers that come in the Kyurem + Blastoise deck since the space for trainers cards is much bigger than the number of Trainers in Megalo Cannon...
#91 - Plasma Energy for sure...
#92-95 - G Booster (confirmed), G Scope, Master Ball and Scope Up Cyclone, the ACE Specs...
#96-101 - Full Arts
#102-105 - shinies.

I believe the plasma Genesect promo that wasn't included will be released in a product like the Keldeo/Mewtwo/Deoxys Box, with a Genesect figure and a Genesect-EX jumbo card.

78 - Caitlin
79 - Cover Fossil
80 - Elesa
81 - Iris
82 - Max Potion (?)
83 - Plume Fossil
84 - Plus Power (?)
85 - Pokémon Catcher
86 - Reversal Trigger
87 - Root Fossil Lileep
88 - Silver Bangle
89 - Silver Mirror
90 - Ultra Ball (?)

Hmm. This is my kinda thoughts, with a few guessed reprints! Ultra Ball because it was in Blastoise+Kyurem, same with Catcher and it's been a bit rumoured.

Man those Jirachi cards looks niiiiice. May have to buy a single of each. My birthday's near the release of the set, I'll just call them late gifts. :p

Also, I don't play anymore, but isn't Iris a bit uh... Powerful? Seems to me like that will be something everyone techs in one or two of. Then pair it with Shaymin EX. Bam. They is dead.

Genesect too.

Someone tells you virizion and genesect+g-booster are the perfect deck match. :O what? Mind blown! Its not like virizions only attack replenishes the energy he loses. One thing to say. TOOL SCRAPPER REVIVAL!

If Catcher gets reprinted, I'm Flipping a table.

That was my initial reaction to the deck also, but it has performed well in Japan and I can sort of see why. Since the deck is VERY open in terms of space, there's a lot of options to work with. Virizion takes the entire format and slows it down about ten notches, which gives the deck time to set up. G Booster can be retrieved with Shadow Triad, which this deck can run in large numbers without hurting consistency since there's quite a bit of room. Most decks don't have room to fit more than a Tool Scrapper or two, meaning it isn't that hard to keep it in play. The deck has numerous issues, the primary of which being it can't handle a lot of early pressure and that it seems very difficult to keep enough energy in play, but it did succeed in Japan and it'll be interesting to see if the deck lives up to that.

Before someone mentions Garchomp/Altaria, I'm not hyping this deck or saying its good, but it does have potential unlike a lot of hyped decks in the past.

Wow these cards are awesome. As I am typing this on my new 3DS I was looking at the scans as well and they are pretty cool.:)

*Facepalm*

Why do you guys still hate Catcher? It's unlikely that there'll be a rotation at this point (that or I'm dumb), besides, it's in Dark Explorers so it'd probably still stay plus if it gets reprinted the price'll go down. Win for everyone if it does get another print.

Keeping Genesect-EX's attack name as Megalo Cannon is pretty cool, though I guess that's what I expected them to do...

What I'm really thrilled about is the fact that lately we've been getting these huuuuge resolution images when they reveal cards. For an artist like me who likes to study all of the little details in the art (and the actual card itself) that's a big deal. Hopefully this is a trend that will continue. Though it makes me wonder: how large does Pokémon card artwork have to be to be fit for a card, and at what size do they work on these things? Is the size of the images they're putting out now the actual size used when they work on the cards, or is it much larger? 2000 pixels? 4000? So large my computer couldn't handle it? It's something I'd like to know since I want to get into that business, but that's probably information they wouldn't give out easily...?

Printing knowledge to the rescue!

300 pixels per inch is standard print resolution. A Pokémon card is, what, 2.5"x3.5"? So 750x1050 would be the minimum. Which, oddly enough, is the size of the images linked on the front page. :p Considering the printing method they use for your typical Pokémon card, this is about what I would expect to see as a printer. I wouldn't be surprised if the full art cards used a higher resolution original image due to the printing process, but as I've never printed anything similar in type to that, I have no idea and can only speculate.

Just wondering, how much does everyone think these will be worth? More/less than Thundurus/Deoxys EX?
If this set actually contains good cards like Ultra Ball or Catcher, I might consider saving up to buy some/go to Prerelease. (But then again, singles are so much cheaper...)
Those pictures on the main page also contain no texture whatsoever, so I find that really strange in comparison to the usual scans I see on PB.
