US only? Aww, I really wanted a Chespin plushie :(

This reminds me of a slightly off topic question of mine for which I couldn't find an answer yet:
3DS are said to be region locked, does this mean that if I get a 3DS XL and Pokemon Y, it will be regionlocked to Europe too? (I live in Hungary) Will I be still able to trade/battle players from the USA or Japan? Or only players in Europe and Australia (I've read that these are included together)? Can someone please answer these for me or at least point me a direction?
 
I think it only lets you login after a certain amount of time.... Anyway I have Chespin, Malamar, Pancham, and Dedenne :D

You can trade with anyone and play with anyone, region locking only prevents you from using games from a different region that your system is from. I believe you can technically get around this by buying digital as long as wherever you are you have wifi, but that's hasn't advanced enough on anything but Steam to become a popular option.

Ah, thank Arceus! I was worried a bit there... I'll be buying the game and the console both from my country so they should work together...

Same thing here, ONLY with the Xerneas code. I believe there is another code for this dude somewhere.
But X7M4 is legit, it worked with a few friends.
