I don't hate them, just think that they could've been better. I like tsutarja's name.. the pigs is ok, but the mijumaju, too many owrds in one.
 
It like when everyone hated mij- I mean Oshawott when it first came. Then it opens it's mouth, shows that it has little fangs, and the whole fanbase went "omg kawaii!!<3" >_>

But I really like Oshawott, it's unique. Snivy is ok, but I like mine better: Vinerpent. Tepig reminds me of a movie called "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" where Napoleon had to eat ice cream and the crowd around him was saying "Eat the pig". You just have to watch the movie.
 
The names disappoint me... perhaps it's a matter of getting used to, but "Tepig"? That sounds really stupid. I was also in love with the name smugleaf, but snivy isn't too bad. Oshawott seems the most creative of the three, it's fun to say with a heavy British accent :D
 
How can some of you not like Snivy? Snide + Ivy is <3

Tepig isn't that bad either. Tepidmeans that they get hotter as they evolve :>.

Oshawott is the only one that is lame.

Unova also makes me rage. But,

anyone know if B/W will have GTS?

I like Isshu better, maybe just spelled a bit different. Unova is OK. Its probably the simplest name of the regions. I like it :)
 
I'm okay with Snivy, since I've seen that plenty of times before. Tepig and Oshawott just came out of nowhere and I'm still having issues adjusting. Now I know why I wanted to remain spoiler free: So I wouldn't get so attached to the Japanese names. It worked pretty well for gen 4. At this point I'm just glad there's a nicknaming option.

As for Unova, I don't get why they'd want to change the region name.

I'm still hoping this is all either a dream or NOA is going to be like 'LOLJK. TROLLED.'
 
^No they're not, in all honesty they were quite uncreative except for Smugleaf and I always prefer the Canon names.

B/W has GTS

and for the final time... Unova- Combination of Latin Unum and Nova- One New. Referring to a new region in a new generation.
 
I'm a French-Canadian, and the French names really hurt my ears. o_o IMHO, the German names for Mijumaru and Pokabu are the best... I'll probably stole them as nicknames for them.

It just shows how quickly people will make a heel-face turn and completely forget their hate...

Not to sound like a jerk, but Smugleaf is overused. Seriously. It was funny/cool for a little bit, but when everyone started spamming it like mudkipz, it became annoying.
 
Personally, I like all of their new names.

I have gone around saying Tepig for the last 10 minutes nonstop because it is so wierd!

I love Oshawott and can totally picture Ash's being the cute little blob of epicness it is with the new name!

Snivy is just cool.

Yeah, I guess that's the thing; we can always give them whatever nicknames we want when we put 'em on our teams. So, while the species names are important, if we _really_ hate a name we can just nickname them so we don't have to see it all the time.
 
That makes sense. I mean, if you obtain a dog and don't like the name "dog" you can name it whatever you want- Pokemon doesn't suck just because you don't have any common sense.

my thoughts when I saw Snivy: ffffuuuuuuuu....
I rather like Tepig and Unova, but Oshawott makes no scense. I'm sure Manhatten is felling rather smug right now
