(1) 'Legendary Treasures' Booster Pack Images, Blister Promos Revealed! [8/26]

I'm really digging the booster pack artwork, they look so awesome! Sucks that I won't be able to get that cool looking Mew anytime soon, as the newest blisters in my area are the Boundries Crossed ones.

Yay for that Mew being the promo. I bought a Japanese one upon its initial release but it got lost in the mail and I got a refund. Glad I waited to see if it would turn up in English eventually before buying another one.
 
Eeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwww! Those pack arts look horrible. Genesect looks especially unsightly. They're just kind of standing there, looking very boring. You can't just make a CG rendering of 4 Pokemon and slap them on a boring background that isn't even a location. The Mew is cool, though. And it's actually sort of playable.

It's a shame, loved all this Shin Nagasawa and Naoki Saito promotional art we got the last couple of packs and such.

Mew seems kind of useful in some decks, Trubbish maybe?
Other then that, not really a fan of the pack art. But, seeing as how all I really care about are the cards inside anyway, it doesn't really matter to me.

Genesect as a pack art again? I wonder what card we're getting. I was under the impression that the Mewtwo/Genesect theme deck cards would have been released in that all-holo theme deck we were to receive later.
 
^Me too. But it seems they were apparently included in this set so I guess the Red Genesect deck is composed of something else (which I can't figure out what for now)...
 
Heh...so its looking more and more likely that we're getting close to an actual TCG sync-or if not, very close to one. Like I argued to death and back a few weeks back. However the "guarantee" of having either Mew or Aggron (which is what I'm reading it as-correct me if I'm wrong) kind of discourages me from per-release a bit :(
 
I don't look at these packs and say "eeww 3D, wheres the drawn art". Zekroms Zekrom and Mewtwos mewtwo, you guys need to calm down about the art stuff. All I see is some awesome Pokemon on some awesome gold backrounds, would be the same 2D or 3D.
 
Wow. The new set looks pretty cool. I however don't think U.S. and Japan will sync the new set to be released at the same time for 2 reasons. 1. Both Countries have a different time span in which the TCG was released about 7 months apart. Japans release was IRC September of 1998 and the U.S.release was either March or April of 1999 because of episode 38 Electric Soldier Porygon. That was why we were delayed. Also not to mention Pokemon was nearly cancelled during that time. 2. The TCG was never accurate when it came to set releases. I will be shocked or surprised if the sets are released at the same time. I think there has only been one set that came out at the same time but forgot the set name. It was pretty recent too.:)

The Japanese TCG started in October 1996 while Base Set was first released in January 1999 in the States. Electric Soldier Porygon -- which aired at the end of 1997 -- really had little to do with the delay, as the Vending Series 1 set was released in March 1998 before the anime had returned from hiatus, and even the games, much less the TCG, didn't come out in English until six months later. And there was never any danger of the show, much less the franchise, getting cancelled; they went on hiatus to examine why the seizures happened and a voice actress gave an interview shortly after the seizures, before the show had come back from hiatus, that they wanted to air the Jynx episode at some point.
 
With blisters, do you mean the 3 packs blisters?

I also wonder what they will do with holos in this set. Ex Battle boost didn't have any regular holor, or raritys, but I'm sure this set will have raritys. I wish they would use the cosmic holofoil pattern cause I feel like that would fit the artwork in this set a lot better..
 
I like the Aggron Promo. I like the Mew promo. I like the art for this set. Dammit TCPi why are you doing things right!?
 
So since Mewtwo and Genesect are on the pack art, I guess we'll be getting the Mewtwo VS Genesect decks in this set. Which means that the Red Genesect box will probably have Shiny Collection.
