So since Mewtwo and Genesect are on the pack art, I guess we'll be getting the Mewtwo VS Genesect decks in this set. Which means that the Red Genesect box will probably have Shiny Collection.

Or it means we're getting both EXs as reprints.

Genesect-EX wasn't in Battle Boost and I don't know why they would reprint a major card like that in the very next set after it was released. I question whether any of the other reprint EX cards that were in Battle Boost will make it to Legendary Treasures either. ND-on are still legal and there'd be very little incentive to buy some of the older sets if their main EX cards were just tossed into another set. Plus there's the three new EX cards from Battle Boost and all of the stuff from Shiny Collection that could serve as LT's chase cards.

3 NEW EX Cards? Chandelure-EX, Excadrill-EX + ?

^I think he meant those two and Meloetta-EX but Meloetta-EX is from Shiny collection instead...

I actually tought that, but since he said EBB I asked...

Yeah, I kind of grouped Meloetta in with the other two mentally. She's still a new EX though. So they would have three regular EX, five full arts from Shiny Collection (as well as the outside chance of the Pikachu FA being included to make it six), and the gold Zekrom and Reshiram as secrets. Can't really see the necessity to spam ten old EX cards into the mix too.

I don't think they'll do that, TBH. If they worry about people not buying other sets then they wouldn't make a reprint set at all. I personally believe they WILL have all 12 EX's from EBB(that will make the average for every set[6 Regular Art + 6 Full Art])+ at least Meloetta-EX Regular Art and have the Golden Dragons as SR's(none of the other SR's in EBB really matter for the rest of the World), bringing Elesa from SC to make 2 Supporters for Legendary Treasures.

Eeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwww! Those pack arts look horrible. Genesect looks especially unsightly. They're just kind of standing there, looking very boring. You can't just make a CG rendering of 4 Pokemon and slap them on a boring background that isn't even a location. The Mew is cool, though. And it's actually sort of playable.

PRETTY MUCH.

It's a shame, loved all this Shin Nagasawa and Naoki Saito promotional art we got the last couple of packs and such.

;v; now that's real effort.

This whole set is a real lack of effort.

Japans release was IRC September of 1998 and the U.S.release was either March or April of 1999 because of episode 38 Electric Soldier Porygon. That was why we were delayed. Also not to mention Pokemon was nearly cancelled during that time.

The Japanese TCG started in October 1996 while Base Set was first released in January 1999 in the States. Electric Soldier Porygon -- which aired at the end of 1997 -- really had little to do with the delay, as the Vending Series 1 set was released in March 1998 before the anime had returned from hiatus, and even the games, much less the TCG, didn't come out in English until six months later. And there was never any danger of the show, much less the franchise, getting cancelled; they went on hiatus to examine why the seizures happened and a voice actress gave an interview shortly after the seizures, before the show had come back from hiatus, that they wanted to air the Jynx episode at some point.

Ah yeah that's right. I knew I was close to the timeframe but I got the Japanese years mixed up. I was closer on the U.S. years though. Thanks for clearing that up. As far as that episode goes I remember during the hiatus they did think about cancelling Pokemon but tney did not do that. Instead they just banned that episode.Pokemon has been nearly cancelled 2 or 3 times now.:( On the flip side Pokemon has beem great for everyone since it started. However I highly doubt the set releases will be done at the same time. I just can't see it happening XD.:)

13 EX cards, 5 full arts and 2 secret rares... I hope not, that'd be overkill. >_<

Also, if this set is more than EX Battle Boost, which it very well could be -- there's Shiny Collection, Everyone's Exciting Battles, the Mewtwo/Genesect decks and various BW-P promos -- there would be a lot more than just reprints in it. Even Battle Boost has a bunch of new cards and many of its reprints are cards from BW, Emerging Powers or Noble Victories - sets where sales aren't that important anymore because they're out of rotation.

A lot of the non-EX ND-on reprints in Battle Boost either are of lesser rarities or unplayable cards like the Legendary Birds from Next Destinies. EX cards on the other hand are a major selling point of the ND-on sets, and the ones in Battle Boost were identical to the originals i.e. no new artwork etc., so if they're not reprinted in Legendary Treasures, it wouldn't surprise me.

BTW it would be useful for the opening post to have the link to the actual article.

Though I did find it...

Just a suggestion.

Anyhow, not really sure what I think about this new set.
I think it's cool that we do get more stuff that Japan had, but with the new rules for the tournaments, not sure how much longer I am willing to play.

Though I do play in the leagues as more of a casual player, with the younger Masters & the older Masters having to pay for the bigger tournaments now, I will be facing much nastier decks.

Plus with the announcement of Washignton DC as the Worlds site, I was kinda interested in maybe gunning for that.
However with that sort of environment, not sure if I want to.

I almost quit this game before with those decks from the Platinum days that were designed to donk on the first turn.
With the possibility of something similar in the mix for the tournament scene, will be seriously thinking about it again.
