(1) Meanings for Reshiram and Zekrom's Names - Clues for 'Black' and 'White?' [5/30]

Anyways, I think the stories of the two games will differ more than usual in this way:

In other threads, I have stated my theory of the two icy mountains and the "shrine" type thing in between them. To sum it up into one sentence, I believe Zekrom and Reshiram are located in either mountain and that the "shrine" has something to do with the 3rd legendary (notice the bridges connecting those 3 things, too).

So, I believe that the direction in which you travel will be different based on which game you get. Let's say Reshiram is located within the icy mountain on the right. Then perhaps in Black you would travel some different way to reach that mountain first, and then go to the other one. And of course, vice versa for Zekrom in White.

It would be cool if they had this thrown in there, although it might be too much and would make it unfair for those who want to try both methods of travel direction and such. But then again, imagine all the white supremacists out there who are peeved that Zekrom is in White version. >_>

but really? was that necessary? I'm positive 99% of people buying these games has nothing to do with races, rather than the color or legendary they prefer. I always prefer good over evil, so i reserved white version. nothing dealing with the fact that i am a white guy =/



more on topic, anyways, looking closely at this "shrine" you keep calling it, I still say it looks like either: an unlikely, always turning stationary tornado, or some sort of spiral staircase. the significance of this, i have no clue.


Although I WILL agree with you that I believe either legend is in either mountain top.

I just wonder what will unveil itself at the next corocoro

I don't get why you guys keep ranting about angel and demon, such boring subject. The way I look at it, Reshiram looks very fantastical while Zekrom is mechanical, so I go with fantasy vs technology, and I also root for the ROM and RAM theory, since Isshu is so much more advance looking than other regions.

They got land sky sea, time space antimatter, all physics stuffs, so I don't think heaven and heck.

I agree, but with a different look, night and day, maybe more of the physics and scientific side, like you say, angels and demons are too religion demanding, some will worship it some will criticize and despise it. Nintendo is gonna shoot themselves in the foot if they choose heaven and heck...

Haha, makes me think of the first Golden Sun, where there was a stationary tornado that took you to mysterious island... I really hope they don't copy that. O.O

No, they really shouldn't. It'd be stretching it to have one or the other, but both would be extremely redundant ( I mean, Clefairy would become what, Normal/Cosmic/Light? >_>), and unneeded.

Why can't it be both Yin VS Yang/Good VS Evil and Nature VS Technology/Organic VS Mechanical?

Fire is Nature's energy and Electric is Man's energy. Also a struggle of Nature and Machine/Man is apparent in that desertification is occurring in the Isshu region to the north of Hian City. Desertification is pollution, crowded, cities, etc. cause land to degrade and vegetation to die (resulting in a desert).

Also, it is obvious that the Good and Evil struggle exist because of the titles of the games and the colors of the legendaries (the main legendaries in EVERY game have a conflict, and it has been custom to pit them against each other when there is 2: Kyogre-Groudon; Dialga-Palkia; now Reshiram-Zekrom).

@SPM3: Hmm, what you say does hold some ground with what we know so far, but it could still possibly be wrong.

Although I personally feel it would be cool for such a contrast with reshiram and zekrom, their pokedex entries don't really give this theory justice. In zekrom's, it says, "It has been passed down". This suggests that zekrom is found in old legend, and his story has been passed down throughout the ages. It also mentions that he hides himself in thunderclouds. If it was more bent on technology, I am sure it would have said that he hid in something more like a power plant (Zapdos XD). Regardless, I'm sure that both hold some interesting backstory with them and we'll just have to wait to find out.

Yeah, others have mentioned that before (even before its Typing was revealed), as well.

Since we have confirmations on their Typing, that's probably the way their tails will be portrayed in the anime and movies.

Due to apparent gender associations with yin and yang, Reshiram is apparently a boy and Zekrom is apparently a girl.

Reshiram I've done some looking into for info because he's my newest favorite of the two after I lost interest in Zekrom for some, currently unknown reason.
Reshiram may have name association with King Hiram, the phoenician king of Tyre. That or King Hiram in the fiction novel " Ivory, and Ape, and Peacocks " who was involved in time travel.
Resh is also the twentieth letter of many semetic alphabets, phoenician included which pushes the idea Reshiram is based on King Hiram even moreso.

Zekrom however, Zek is a Russian prison or camp inmate enforced by higher ups. Possibly a torture refence, a demon of such placed on by Arceus. This could also push forward the angel and demon thing. These could work with binding heaven and hell, torture and peace, and happiness and sadness on certain levels.
