by the Digimon logic Pokemon are Pocket Monsters, so anything that can be caught in a pokeball is a pokemon, whethers its human, animal or anything else. You can catch God so I think any problems with pokemon logic should be let go by now.

Yeah. Pokemon is meant to be enjoyed, not understood. :p

Well I mean in the digital world there are birds and normal fish (gomamon used some of the fish as an attack a bunch). That's what I didn't get. And as for pokemon, didn't they try to catch a person in a pokeball once and it didn't work. I think it was on accident.

Also in pokemon, they probably just live on a continent with mostly pokemon and few animals but the rest of the world has animals. But we weren't talking bout that. It was about how a soul could be caught. But anyway we still don't even know if Honedge is a pokemon soul or a human soul so let's talk about his eye. Why does it have only one eye? Speculations?

I think its eye is supposed to look like a jewel or a gem, similar to many decorative sword designs in the past, especially for royalty/knights of European origin.

WHAT IF they do a thing where it evolves into the soul of the pokemon that is inside of it holding the sword. So when you catch the wild 2nd stage and it makes an egg, the egg hatches into another sword with the soul inside and the soul can't come out till it evolves.

Ive seen really cool fan arts where it hand wraps around a person or pokemon, it closes its eye, and then the person eye on whatever side that is holding honegde becomes honedges eye, like a half possesion.

But then we have to figure out if they'd do a pre existing pokemon, make a new one that could be a sort of partner, or an unnamed pokemon addition sort of thing like slobro and slowking's shells.

I love it!!! It is so original. The best part of it is the illusion of eyes and a mouth when sheathed and the fact that it looks like a cross between a sword and the Eye of Mordor. This person's fan art of it makes it look even more like the Eye of Mordor. http://jinnoxious.deviantart.com/art/Hitotsuki-382973881

I believe you mean the "Eye of Sauron", but the location of said eye is Mordor, so I can see why you called it that.

That blue thing seems to be its arm, which also looks a bit like it can form a claw. If it can learn Shadow claw (which I hope it does) perhaps it can sheathe itself and use its arm as the claw?

Also it better learn metal claw too (I know it is a sword and not a claw but when you think about it a sword kind of is a metal claw at that)

hmm... about the animals thing... I belive the only reason we've seen animals in the Pokémon anime or related material is because there were only 151 pokémon, so they had to fill in the space with something else... If you notice, most animal appearances are in the original seasons. I've been watching the anime since DP and I never saw an animal... With 649 species and more coming, there is no need to put animals in there... So, no, I don't think there are animals in the Pokémon world...

I like your reasoning. It makes sense except for the fact that they showed a pidgy eating a worm when they already had caterpie in existence. But o well. I still think the places with pokemon are just one big continent or just one region of earth while the rest of the world has animals and maybe Hoen was closer to the rest of the world that's why it had them. But we should stay on topic (lol I'm one to talk).

Aw yeah, if this becomes a TCG card, it would be quite sharp on the edges, if you get what I mean.

Fixed.

dmaster out.

There were also a lot of pokedex entries that made reference to animals...

I think that has been phased out too now, though. I guess I still like the idea of there being normal animals in Pokemon because there are so many entries talking about pokemon drawing or catching "prey," and it's a bit unpleasant to think about pokemon straight-up devouring each other :(

Man, you haven't heard of that Magic card? I am really trying to find a Yugioh equivalent, but with so many cards, it is hard to search.

When I first saw it...I was like wow that doesn't look like a Pokemon, but I guess all Pokemon don't look like Pokemon at one point xD

I can totally design a Pokemon evolution chain.

Scribble --> Doodle --> Art

I kind of find it funny how people complain how its design and name are crappy and forget that every generation had crappy names for pokemon and crappy designs as well. That said with all these animals we have not even hit the tip of the iceberg for things to base pokemon on yet, well we are at the very top of the tip but we are nowhere close to being at 10 percent of the iceberg of things to base pokemon on. The ghost sword thing is probably based on a myth/legend of a sword with its user's spirit inside it.

Anyone who says that Honedge does not look like a pokemon must remember that Nidoking does not look like a pokemon either. It looks like something from a Godzilla movie instead. They are hardly running out of ideas for pokemon and Honedge just proves it. (seriously it is about time that we get a sword pokemon)

I think I might be over thinking things here.
