(1) Nintendo DSi XL To Be Released Next Month [2/24]

Somewhat surprised they brought it to the states. If I ever find myself using the DS more often in the future, and this is still the latest version I might go with it since I skipped the original DSi. I really don't use my pockets to carry around the DS, so I'd prefer it to be a bit larger anyway.

So are you saying they didn't even SLIGHTLY redesign it other than making it bigger? Wow. Kinda like with the iPad except not quite as drastic.

Actually, it has some very slight changes. The power button is a bit bigger and now closely resembles the Wiimote's power button. The speakers have changed from little holes back into the dots resembling the DS Lite's speakers. And if I recall correctly, they've changed the finish on the top back to glossy, though the bottom is still matte.

Just $10 more and you could get a Wii (but the DS has the FAR superior library). I believe if I upgrade, I'll stick to the DSi myself.

Does anyone know if the camera is better then the one on the DSi?
And did they make listening to MP3's easier?

ACC/AAC is a pain.

o_O

Um...wow?

To be perfectly honest, I'm not impressed. I think the only way I'd upgrade to that is if my trusty DS Lite broke.

What a waste. It's the EXACT same thing as the DSi but just bigger. Maybe the appearance is different... but not worth it at all. I'd rather save up my money for something better.

Not worth the money at all...tsk, tsk, nintendo r u gusy seriously running outta ideas, this makes me almost afraid 4 the 5th gen, I mean Zoroark is cool looking and all but we already had a Fox Pokemon, i hope Nintendo & Game Freak haven't run outta ideas...

I don't think it's fair to limit 1 Pokemon per animal. =P We've already had at least 7 monkeys, a million birds, a bunch of dragons, etc etc.~

As for the DSi XL, I followed the release in Japan and...I like the idea of a bigger screen but I think it's so ugly! They made the corners a lot more rounded, added more speaker holes, and chose colours that (I know this was their plan) that appeal to seniors (at least in Japan) so they would buy a DS. And they brought back the fingerprint-prone glossy finish. Hnnnng. I'm unimpressed. I'm pretty unimpressed with it, but maybe that will change when it's released?

If anything, I hope this makes the price of the normal DSi drop a bit, I've been thinking of picking one up. :]
SSonDSliteandHGonDSibahahahahaha.

EDIT: Do you think that games would look worse on a larger screen? It's not like DS games ever had that feature to deal with before, I'm thinking it would either look fuzzy or the pixels would just be bigger.

i agree with you. its not worth buying. i will wait until the DS successor comes to the us.

Its not really worth buying, I'll stick with my DS Lite. Im going to wait until there is a game system I like that Nintendo made, then I'll get that one. The DSi XL is not worth buying, and also it cost almost $200. o_O

not worth the money gettin the new DS at all.sure bigger screen and all that but i think must of us will stick to the lite or the dsi rather than the XL.especially the price on the thing is really what makes it not worth getting.

Why would you even want something big and less portable? I think I'll stick with my DS-i which is if not better, just as good.

As everyone else thinks, complete rubbish.

It is basically a way to con people, the only changes are, the glossy cover, bigger size and a pen-like stylus. As previously said, you are better off with the Wii. If it actually carried better graphics, it MIGHT be worth to consider. Other than that though, a complete waste of time.

Omgomgomg I highly highly disagree. Sure the DS has a lot more better games on it than the Wii (being out longer helps), but the Wii has a far superior lineup when you count VC Games, a lot more better WiiWare Games, and some exclusives like Metroid Prime, SSBB, and SMG that will never be as accurately represented on the DS. Wii is far superior IMO, especially when I compare these prices right now.

Yeah, 190.00 is not that good IMO. It's practically a Wii, and definitely not worth it IMO. It does come with some games, but some of them are already free, and I'd rather it didn't if it came as the same price of the DSi, because not everyone likes Brain Age. My Mom might buy it because she hates using my DSi for DSiWare games, and a bigger screen helps her poor eyesight. She'll have to shed out the money for it though. :O

dmaster out.

Crud. That's all it is. But, if it makes money, (which it probably will because 6-year-olds will go crazy over gluing their eyes to even larger screens), then good for Nintendo.

If it only could play GBA games...I'll still with the DS lite, thank you very much.
